just got a call at 8am SUNDAY morning - person said they were from Wells Fargo, and we were overdue for a pmt on a LOC.  Gave the employee ID# to wife, when i got on the phone he wouldn't verify any info with me , because I wouldn't validate who I was.  Not sure if its a scam, but he did know the $$ amount I was late on(it was true), and told my wife to make a pmt at the bank by Friday.  HMMMMM - he told me, that they call on Sunday because they work 7 days per week.

I have been peppered with calls from this # for several weeks - if it is legit, I have to admire the persistence of the ROBOCALL...I don't like it, but in my case I was overdue on a pmt, and it turned out to be true.  Still, this is a bad way of conducting business for Wells Fargo.  I saw in a previous post that someone did some digging, and found two addresses in Iowa.  Probably their collection offices.

Calls from someone all hours of the day and night, wanting to access personal information. Please call your local bank and report this, when they call. Do not give out any information.

Caller ID is Wells Fargo.....I don't even use Wells Fargo.  Am blocking this number

After looking up all of this information on this phone number, I decided to call the 1-800 number for Wells Fargo (I'm not giving it out, just look it up on their website so you know it's legit). The lady said I have no issues with my account and it is probably a scam.

She told me to contact WF's Fraud Prevention department to report the number to them.

Good luck and NEVER give out your information unsolicited, even if they confirm *some
* of your info. Call WF directly.

So I called the fraud prevention department and they transferred me to a separate department that handles debit card fraud, and they confirmed that they were trying to double check a debit card purchase for $6.55.

It was from WF.

The good news is, during this process, I discovered you can turn the general phone solicitation requests for marketing from WF off, which I did. But if you get calls from their fraud prevention department, it won't show up as being from WF. I will still get the heeby-jeebies about giving unsolicited personal information out, so I will still always call WF about these things instead of giving info out over the phone.

I was suspected that this might be wellsfargo as there are lots of arguments on both sides here.  I decided to call WF customer service to double check.  The woman I spoke to said there were so many departments at Wellsfargo that she could not tell me if this was truly Wellsfargo calling.  I don't have any reason for them to call me.  She verified that my accounts with them were fine.  She also indicated that if it was truly Wellsfargo calling they would leave a message with a department name per company policy.  I don't answer numbers I don't know and will continue to do so.  After my checking.. I would say scam... Good Luck everyone!

Since you have an account with Wells Fargo any of the companies tied to it have access to your information and can solicit you for their services. They do not leave a message because once they do they can not call again that day. Since they use a auto dial system they can numerous times in a day. They think that way they can get you to answer.

Get a name, legally they can not continue to call you at work once you have let them know it's a work number. State that this is your work, no personal calls and you can be fired. Keep the name if thet call back you can gwt them in trouble.

When I answer they hang up. I want this number on my do not call list..

It is Fargo Bank, card services, etc.
They have a very nasty way of calling people (call it war-dialing) over and over and at all weird times of the day/night. Their machine call you all the time, and if you answer, then YOU get put on hold til someone can talk to you.
  They were hitting me because they were looking for a payment that was already sent. A line of credit bill. For some reason they still are not synching the payment with the call back collectors, even I can see the payment on my online account, Until it synchs, they want me to make another payment.
  I TRULY dislike Wells Fargo, and would NEVER recommend them to anyone. If they even THINK your late on a payment, they act like the whole damn world is going to implode. My fix after talking to them with no satisfaction? Call block that ass!

Call block them or loose your mind. They (Wells Fargo) WILL NOT STOP.

I keep getting calls from this number and have no unpaid bills
