Some [***] from this company just called a few moments ago asking for my boss. I could tell that he was a telemarketer so I had a little fun trying to get information out of him. Said his company name was Obsidian. We're a construction company and the guy tried his best to say that he was following up on a project that he wanted a quote on. I kept asking him industry specific questions and the jerk just couldn't answer them properly.  Telemarketer - 0  /  Me - 1 :)

A call from this number turned out to be New York-Presbyterian Hospital's collection agency.  They are low level types, nasty and abusive, ill-informed, less than forthright, refuse to identify themselves by name, claim any records they do not have do not exist, and when you ask to speak to a supervisor they hem and haw and then hang up.  They do not inform, they do not listen, they do not discuss the facts of the matter -- they seem to be paid simply to harass and alarm.  It is despicable that an institution offering the fine medical care NY-Presbyterian Hospital is famous for should be represented by such incompetence bordering on criminality.  It would seriously make me think twice before choosing this hospital again.

Sunday @ 3:00 pm.  Saw the phony # on caller ID - picked up, gave a razzberry, and hung up.  Hopefully, that will be the end of that.

Keep getting calls from 516-800-0000. Silence for a few seconds, then good bye.  Do they just want to know if there is someone home? Why can't this stuff be stopped?

It was the hospital calling regarding unpaid medical bills. This call was legit as they had my hospital number, days I was there and my insurance info. They had asked me to verify who I was by me giving them personal info. I gave them the month/date and zip code since I figured they couldn't do anything with it. Thankfully I took the call and requested they send me a bill. I paid it off a week    later so it doesn't go on my credit history.

We cannot stop them but you can. Do not answer unknown calls and do not call them back. Consider getting a call blocking device (or app for your cell phone)-they're available online and start around $45. https://800notes.com/nb/search?q=call+blockers

Revived a called form this number and they are actually calling from NY Presbyterian hospital billing department to remind me to pay my bill. Just wonder how come the hospital cannot using a better number to call coz this number appears as “scam likely” and is it really a legit number? But I still pay the bill anyways coz everything seems matching the record. Anyone has the same experience?!

Why would a legitimate business call from what is clearly a spoofed phone number? I hope you called the hospital directly to pay your bill and didn't pay this scammer.
Just FYI: no phone number prefix or area code in North America begins with a 0 or a 1. If you see such a number you can rest assured it is spoofed and thus the call is a scam.

They cannot be "legit" because this number cannot exist in the North American Numbering Plan.  Last time I checked New York was in North America.  You were taken to the cleaners.
