- Jenny| 2 repliesLeft a computer automated message: "The Internal Revenue Services is filing lawsuit against you and arrest warrant has been released on your name. To get more information about this case file and arrest warrant from federal database, please call immediately after this recording at our headquarters number that is 516-340-4999. I repeat 516-340-4999. Internal Revenue Service agent is waiting for your call back."
- Me replies to Jenny| 1 replyIs that true from IRS
- SarahSaid I need to call their headquarters right away. The IRS has an arrest warrant issued out on me.
- Angela replies to MeTHIS IS A SCAM NOT THE IRS. The IRS has no authority to issue arrest warrants. From IRS.GOV: The first IRS contact with taxpayers on a tax issue is likely to occur via mail. If someone unexpectedly calls claiming to be from the IRS and threatens police arrest, deportation or license revocation if you don’t pay immediately, that is a sign that it really isn’t the IRS calling
- Julie Receskey| 1 replyI would think this was a scam. Buy who wants to take chances, right? I called the number 3 X's. The first 2 times, not in service. Then it just stopped ringing and no one came on line. Where's the scam?

- BigA replies to Julie ReceskeyThis is the well known and extremely publicized IRS scam. You can believe that, you can check it out at the official IRS website, you can call the IRS at a known and published (by them) phone number, or you can pay these overseas crooks. Your choice. Just remember that old saying "A fool and his money are soon parted" Dr. John Bridges' Defence of the Government of the Church of England, 1587
- LeslieI received a call back in January saying if I didn’t pay they would release a warrant for my arrest. Today I received a call saying a warrant has already been released for my arrest, and that I need to call them back immediately. Pretty sure this is a scam.
Last year I received a call that had another country listed on the caller ID, they said they were calling with The United States government, when I told them what the caller ID said they hung up immediately.- Caller: IRS

- Christina M.The irs will never contact you via phone.... You will always have to contact them first. If they contact you it will be via mail to hone address or email. This information was given to me by an irs agent. They will not issue arrest warrants before contacting you repeatedly via email or snail mail. If you were going to be arrested then you would have been contacted by law enforcement.....The irs can't arrest you!!!! They have plenty to do managing the other 95% of our lives...Lol....This is 100% a phone scam.
