Yep, just go tthe call today, Heavy Indian accent, its a scam. Dont do what they say. I asked them for a number to call back afyer ai check them out aand they did give me this number 516-730-7009 and said his name is  Melvin Smith..lol and Indian guy named Melvin? The number on the caller ID on my phone said from Rhode Island. 401-830-4254. I could call them back at my convienence. Do they really think Im thats stupid? Today you should know not to give out any info to anyone. WHAT A SCAM!!! Its sad to think theyre might be some poor old woman out there that would think this is legit. [***]!

During the call I received, several of the 'scam clues' were evident:  Heavy accent, many other voices in background (as in a telephone sales room), long pause between my initial "Hello" and the time that their voice finally clicked in (indicating a re-routed number, i.e. caller is actually in India, etc. and they make calls via an automated system...as in phone sales), lots of mumbo jumbo that would disturb the average p.c. user, failure to state right up front in the beginning that there was a $162 charge for service (I had to ask), dfidn't want me to check them out and then call back..tried everything to talk me out of it.
They may be a very helpful service but, their sales practices caused me to decide never to find out.  I rate them SUPER SLEEZE and if they are in business long enough for you to get the 2 years worth of service that your money should buy, I will be amazed.

Oh my gosh....Kevin Watson there you are I just got a call from you at Online Computer Maintenance Department.  I hope you have NOT SCAMMED anyone!!!!

They  called me and tried to convince me that I had a virus in my computer and that Microsoft contracted them to notify them when problems were detected..

Just got a call from this company.  They wanted me to go to my computer and they would help me with my viruses and errors!!!! Told them my husband was a certified cysco person and he would take care of any problems my computer had. He said oh is he there now?  I asked for his name and even though he had a very thick India accent he gave his name as Gary Taylor.  The number was 516-730-7009 and he was he was with Techies on Line.  When I asked for the number for the main operation instead of just his direct number, he started mumbling with someone there with him and then hung up.

Just got a call from them about my computer.  This company definitely has bad business, even if they are "legitimate", which I do NOT believe they are.  "Logmein123.com" is site that I have heard of previously and a consultant of mine has actually used a IT company that used them when they need to connect to your computer for remote servicing. I wonder if someone hacked logmein.com's databases/info and got phone numbers that way or if they are a partner on this 'bad practice' of calling up people and 'informing them' that their computer has been compromised.

This company called an older friend of mine and said that he could see that her PC was running badly.  He was lying.  He couldn't possibly see her PC remotely.  He was "cold calling" to sign her up for technical support.  Even if they are legit they shouldn't be lying to people and trying to use their lies to scam people.

Please do not trust companies that do business like this.  Make the world a better place and don't give companies like this your money.

I just received a call from this  "service" - I  see some issues:

1) Legit services have their numbers  registered, so a reverse look-up, like I performed, would have given me the name and address of any legitimate company  providing a legitimate service.  The number was not listed.

2) My  home PC has not been hooked up to the internet in WEEKS.  Not even  plugged IN.  How could they have received information about  it being infected with a horrible virus?  

3) My laptop uses an air card through my  cell phone provider.  So if it was my laptop,   why did the call come to my land line number?  

4) Their website contains the number I was given, yet  again, it doesn't show up on a reverse listing.  

Nancy was the one that called me. English was not her first language.

BTW, I have great anti-virus software on both my computers.

So , my  conclusion: SCAM SCAM SCAM, and anyone saying otherwise here is probably involved with the scam.

Ask them for their company address and check with their local Better Business Bureau and Chamber of Commerce. I asked for the address and was given it reluctantly and now I will research to determine if they are for real.

Follow up:

So far no positive info. The address the person at Techs on line gave as a company address is " 350 5th ave New York City " ( GOOGLE IT ). They claimed to be registered with both the local Better Business Bureau and Chamber of Commerce. Haven't been able to find them on either. The history is. They called my mom and asked "IF SHE HAD A COMPUTER" hmmmmm  it was only after she said yes that she was advised of the supposed error messages. I now must wonder if the error messages told them what her home phone number was. Has anyone check with Microsoft to see if the require all internet providers to provide all of the phone numbers of their users? Has anyone else noticed that many of the positive comments have similar grammatical errors? " Almost like the same person typing the different messages. I don't claim to know for sure if these guys are legit or not, but if I owned a company and wanted to get business. HMMMMMMM! I might make myself as visible as posible

I will be in a lot of trouble. I'm so tired of all these type of phone calls. They
should not be able to call you at work either. The man's name was Tom Williams.

Same callers, same story, same phone number given. Except this man with a heavy accent said he was with Comcast and their server detected a virus on my computer. He interrupted each of my questions and grew impatient as I asked more. Not the signs of a true customer service rep!
