Received a call from this number but does not leave a message. I am sure it is some type of bill collector for I have many.

This is a scam... Message left by a company claiming to be Metlife... I was told to call Metlife at 800-826-4923 to confirm some info, but when I called I was told by a message that I had won a free 2 night cruise... all I had to do was press any touchtone key and pay $70- in port fees by credit card... Don't give out any info to callers from this number... they are pretending to be from MetLife (Met Life's real contact # for Customer Service is 1-800-METLIFE, do not call any other # provided from someone calling you) If the caller really is with MetLife, you can call 1-800-METLIFE and get routed back to the same person... Don't believe the lies!!!

This is Met Life Insurance, calling to get more information on the FMLA claim I had filed the day before.  This is not a scam. This is their direct dial number, but they also gave me their toll free number, in case I had to call them back.

I think it's safe to say that the MetLife direct dial number of 518-244-4000 is being spoofed on a spam call. I just got a call from this number, and MetLife would have no reason to be calling me as I do not have a pending claim with them. No message left (which MetLife WOULD leave a message).

To me this call was legitimate from MetLife concerning an annuity I have with them.  They gave me an 800 number to call back and a reference number.  The number checks out as MetLife.

I'm in full agreement with your post. I experienced the same run down you did. This is definitely a scam and  an attempt to get you're personal info for a quick buck at your expense. Kudos to you for you're quick thinking!!!!

I vote scam.   i spoke to a person who said they were from Metlife and and I have a Metlife policy with a payment that was late.   I passed on paying over the phone at the time, and said i would mail my check soon.    i called the 1-800 number today to pay over the phone, and was informed by the automated system that this was not an option.

Caller says nothing when he/she/it calls nor leaves a message. Nothing but a nuisance and probably a Scanner.

Did not leave a message, but I recently opened an FMLA claim, so I would believe MetLife.
