this number works as a scam partner with 6572100594, they scammed me yesterday :-( they got me for a diamond ring, soooo i can explain how their scam works, they asked me to send a paypal money request, i did, and i got a reply from what appeared to be a paypal response, saying the money was pending, and it would stay pending until a tracking number was in putted into "paypal" after getting it mailed and tracking number is inputted, they send another "paypal" email saying it could take up to 24 hours for "paypal" to verify the tracking number, 23 hours later "paypal" (scammer paypal) says your accounts receiving limit is to small to receive the amount pending, you must have the buyer send 600 more dollars to raise the limit (that stays pending, promting you to send 600 of your own money back to the buyer), then send the buyer the 600 back in a money order so they can input the money order code and then the money pending will turn from pending to transfered, so obviously i didnt do the 600, but they did get my ring, a number attached to this number that works with this scammer is 5188802038, that number will text you after the paypal invoice (the initial money request from your real paypal to their fake paypal) the email used is for to get my info from my real paypal is art2art@operamail.com, and the fake "paypal" email they then used that looked like the real paypal is pay-pal.cc@live.com (found that out after the fact and began looking into it) its naaaame is service@paypal.com which is all u see unless you forward or reply. the person who signed for the ring was M. Hill and how he signed that i dunno because it was addressed to a William Jones, i called paypal and they had me forward all of the fake paypal emails to them, and other info and gave me an online police site to file a report, so i did, hopefully they catch these guys, its disgusting

Thanks for posting your experience dude. I got a text for a diamond ring from 5188802038 and we agreed on price and they said they want to send the money via paypal. I replied that didn't make sense since they hadn't seen the ring. they said they could not meet to make the exchange and gave me instructions on how to setup a paypal account. I already have a paypal account. I got to work and google the telephone number and found your post. I told them scammer, go f yourself.

We have an ad on Craigslist for 2 iPhone 5's. we told the guy it was local & cash only. He agreed & requested both phones. He then followed up requesting to be sent an invoice via PayPal to send payment. We told him that we will not fall for his scam & to f*** off.
He then started texting death threats...literally death threats.
These guys are horrible.this is NOT RIGHT!

Same thing regarding a ring just happened to me from this number!!  Person said her name was Caryn Doyle.  Don't know what the actual email was because I just texted her that I can't send the ring without payment. I had also been getting those same 'fake' emails from paypal and had also reported them to their fraud department.  This is the 4th time at least in the last 2 weeks that people have tried to scam me selling the ring.  It's crazy!

So glad I googled the number.  Thank you all for reporting this!

Just got a message too from "caryn doyle" asking for my ring. Pretty much everything that has been said so far is what was being said to me.  I have not sent the ring, thankfully.  I'm sorry for those who got robbed. They will be caught eventually.

Oh yeah all of the above is true!  If you do Craigslist go cash and carry!  DO NOT do Pay Pay.  Same name of Caryn Doyle was involved in the transaction in trying to scam me.  Also the same telephone number  (518) 880-2038.  Beware and do not negotiate with the person - you will regret it.  
She sent me notice that payment was pending and that i needED to mail the item and send the tracking number.  Payment was "pending" and once i complied then it would no longer be pending.  The problem here is I would be without the item and no money for it.  
Another thing she sent me 15 texts in one hour.  I asked her if this was a scam and now  - no more communication.  Just out of time but thank goodness I didn't fall for her deception!

BEWARE    DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH PERSON ASSOCIATED WITH THIS NUMBER!  all over the internet are warnings and i almost fell into the trap.  It involves craigslist and paypal.  The only secure way to do craigslist and cash and personal delivery!  watch out - person's name is Caryn Doyle.

Guy just tried it with me & then when I let em know I was on to his scam he threatened my life

The guy also just tried to scam me for my diamond ring.  I hate dealing on craigslist, there are just to many scammers.

Thank you for posting. I listed a diamond ring and same thing, from many different numbers. Hope they get caught soon. If you message them back enough their language doesn't hold up to the level of the first texts. So it pays to look into anything that might be a scam. Sad.

I just got a request from the same number wanting my diamond ring. He wanted me to send a request through paypal. So that he can send payment. Thank you for the info

Folks, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE look at email headers to verify emails are really being sent from a real Paypal and not a scammer server. If you don't know how, get help from friends or geeks. Any geek will be glad to help you from being scammed.

Thanks for the heads up. I just posted my Gucci watch last night and I've received two text messages from a 518 and 513 area codes. Scum bags!

They also attempted to scam me, although it was through Kijiji (free Canadian classifieds) and they were trying to buy my dresser. I might have fallen for it too if their grammar was so atrocious, also they only text me at 3 in the morning (5 Alabama time) and I thought that was strange. So just a warning it is not just rings, and now they have gone international.

I just got the same text message on my phone. The text read- Wanted to know if I still had the chopper and what my bottom dollar amount was. So I tell them and they said well just wanted to check since I am buying this for my cousin! as a surprise and he didn't know about price or condition.. I can only pay you via one of the fastest and secure way to pay online (PayPal) Then its Do you have a PayPal account?  So can you assure me that I wont be disappointed? Also no shipment as I have a Mover that will come get it. When they said that they wanted to pay by PayPal and having a mover come get it without looking at it.. I KNEW IT WAS A SCAM!!! Since I haven't messaged back they seem to have stopped texting!!

HI all I always receive emails and text from this A**holes and i just keep reporting then or forward that number as a Spam . I know i t might be fraustrating to people but we just gotta keep trying and hope thta this scum bags be caught and pay the price  ..(If you have a Craigslist posting and you get a question always treat it as a spam better safe than sorry . ask questions what city they are from if they say the capital of your city you should ask "oh yeah where about in Albany ?.. if they cant answer you quikly then that's a red alert ). I always sell local on CRaigslist  cash only !

518-880-2038 Is a Craigslist scammer. He/She tried to scam me then when they seen it was not going to work, they asked if I wanted in on the game, so I played along to learn their whole dirty plot. They will do their best to get you to pay with paypal. NEVER use paypal on craigslist NEVER. ONLY do face to face CASH transactions, ALSO, put in your add NOT TEXT MESSAGES, I will not respond, PHONE CALLS ONLY. that way when you get a text you know it's a scammer.
