Caller continues to ring me repeatedly but when answered no one is on the line.

Presumed collection agency.

I continue to get calls for the person (and their children) who had my phone number 10 years ago, for unpaid accounts. I answered this call last week because it was a local-call ring (so not one of my friendly neighbourhood scammers calling from South Carolina or Colorado...).

When the call was picked up by someone at the other end, he mumbled the person's name, and when I required him to repeat what he had said and then recognized it, I informed him that the person had not had the number for 10 years and ended the call.

(I have had the number for 8 years 8 months. I assume that the other person discontinued using it at least a year earlier.)

I then realized that several recent calls had been from this number or a variant (7755). I just tried (Thanksgiving Sunday evening) to call the number to find out exactly who the caller was and make sure they agreed never to call my number again. I was put in an interminable round of "your call is important to us"/loud music with no indication of the company name or option to leave a message. I will try again during the week and pass any info on.

All that useless info because you "guess" a missed call might be a debt collector, but don't really know?

I certainly doubt that anything in that post is actually true based on your previous rants where the administrator had to step in and remove because of your failure to abide by the TOS as well as your previous Cuckoo for Coca Puffs rants.

Sounded like a call centre when the message was left.  lots of other voices in the background.

Often does not leave a message but when they do, they pretend to be CRA and threaten me with legal action.
