Received a call 3 days ago from "technical support" claiming there was something wrong with my computer.  I think I laughed. (HAH!) I said, "NO. There is nothing wrong with my computer." and he hung up. I called back to see if I could 'opt-out' (which you CAN do with annoying but legitimate sales calls) but I just got a recording that said "Verizon wireless. The number you have reached has been disconnected." (Really? . . . In the last 2 seconds?).  ---- I added the number to my contact list under the name 'LIKELY SCAM',  so it was funny to me to read that when they called me yesterday.  I answered but they never replied.  ---- They also called today and when he started to speak about being from 'tech support' I said, "How do I get off your list? This is the 3rd call in 3 days."  Then he hung up.  ---- I believe he heard me and I am hoping he is able to take me off the list.  Even scammers don't want to waste their time calling someone who KNOWS it's a scam AND has already been called multiple times in a short amount of time.

You are naive. This is a scammer calling you from a hidden number and displaying a fake ID and calling number, that's why when you called back - which is a foolhardy thing to do - you learned the number is out of service. Read through some of the posts on this site, not just this thread, and educate yourself about how wily these scammers can be.

Tech scam. I don't even own a windows computer so it would be impossible for them to know I am having issues. Hoping karma catches up to him and lands him in jail for a REALLY long time. Scum of the earth

Calling to tell me that my computer is sending out viruses. I told him "several" times that I don't own a computer. After finally shouting it over and over again, he hung up.

No message left. Cloned "local" number.

We have been getting these unwanted early wakeup calls from this number.  Don't answer but very upsetting that early with nonsense scam calls!

They called my number many times I finally picked up acting like an older lady they were from Middle East they sounded like they wanted to fix my computer for money I told him that they are scammers and that I hope the US government comes after them and they hung up

They called wanting to know about my computer which is completely unpowered. I turned on a noise maker next to the phone and let him hear that for 20 seconds or longer and then I hung up. Heavy accent from India or someplace, definitely NOT an American.

Call at 1215p mdt Thu 27 Jul. Did not answer. No voice mail.

This is the 2nd time I answered a call that claim my computer is sending messages that it is downloading malicious software and it is going to crash at any moment. First time I told him we have no computers, and he argued with me that was impossible. This time I told him to not call anymore. You can hear in the background he is calling from a call center in India. Everyone is saying the same script. Don't bother picking up unless you want to play mind games and waste your time.

No message, has been reported as a computer tech scam. Number blocked.

same thing just happened to me....the woman, with an Indian accent, sounded so fake....definite clue!

Why would you try to call back?  Can't you see all the comments that this is a scam?

"Jack"  with thick Indian accent calling from tech services wanting to know how I was doing today.  After laughing I hung up.  I guess people are stilling falling for this bilge or they would move on to some other scam.  Using our local area code

Won't stop calling me about window computer's program.

A New Delhi freight train rumbling through Tucson fixing Windows computers.  Desperate folks working the middle of the night making desperate phone calls a half a world away.  If you answer, you're toast.  Your number gets sold as ACTIVE.  You get more calls.  And calls.  Don't answer.

Have him blocked but he still calls twice a day. Computer fix. SCAM SCAM SCAM

Multiple calls. ID Chapman Michael. *67 gives phone company recorded message that number is not in service.
Call type should include 'attempt to defraud' - i.e. 'deliberately falsifying caller ID to disguise identity with the intent to harm or defraud.' Fines in process for this currently run as high as $120 million.
