Robocall saying we're approved for $200k in business credit.

I know why DNC does not work. Follow the money trail. Example, all of us are frustrated with caller BS but all the search engines make money if we try to drill down and find out who is calling us the big companies sell caller info. Only a few services are free.

The Do Not Call list works.

I have received multiple calls from this number both during my business hours and during dinner time - they never leave voicemails.

Wow, I just got a call telling me I have been pre-approved for a $250,000 loan for my business. I don't have business, but I can start one. Perhaps a business which traces spoofed telephone numbers and locates the scammers, regardless of what country they are spoofing and scamming from.

Completely unlisted and unknown caller approves a loan to me. I gave them my information and social security number, and they will be mailing me some money soon, yay!

Called my cell yesterday, and again today.  I did not answer, they left no messages.
My caller ID from them says "BUSINESS".  Yeh, right...  :-(

Go to www.endrobocalls.org and sign the petition.  It is by the Consumer Reports Magazine folks, who are pressuring the Feds and phone companies to stop this nonsense.  Spread the word !

Called no vm blocked it

I just received a call from this number at 9:55 a.m. (EST). I'm at work and didn't answer, plus I don't answer numbers I don't recognize. I immediately did a Google search and started reading through your all's 800Notes, and I'm glad I didn't answer. Sounds like a scam, and I'll be adding them to my blocked list. Thanks everyone for contributing your experience.

Hint:
If you're using a recent Android device, you MIGHT be able to set your phone to accept incoming calls From Contacts ONLY.

DISCLAIMER: Some phone vendors and wireless carriers may add or restrict your ability to access some of these settings.
I'm using an LG smartphone running Android OS 4.4 "Kit-Kat" on prepaid TracFone wireless.

Here's how:
Go to System settings, Calls, Call restrictions, Incoming calls, choose Contacts only

That limits incoming calls to ONLY numbers that are ALREADY IN your phone Contacts directory.

Legitimate callers who are NOT in your Contacts directory will automatically receive a voice message AND opportunity to leave a voicemail, and you'll receive a voicemail notification if they do leave a message.
The phone Call log will also show the incoming call and the number, and from there, you can easily Add the number to your Contacts list.

When you've added the legitimate caller to your Contacts list, ALL further calls from that legitimate caller will automatically ring through.

Robocalling scammers will continue to call, but you won't be bothered, because they won't ring through, and because they usually won't leave a message.
