Do not take this person a scammer lightly.  This is a true criminal trying to penetrate your personal data.  The caller ID name changes & it says it originates from Arizona.  However, it can be transferred to an overseas operator.  The Wall St Journal just reported catching scammers, but unable to retrieve lost funds from victims.    REPORT this phone number.  FCC needs more reports in volume to go after these thieves.

Received dozens of calls the past few weeks, same name as above but mine shows as "Castaneda Luis". Doesn't leave a message, I just ignore it.

Starting Dec 1st through Dec 2nd I received 5 calls from 520-889-5690 Luis Castaneda Arizona area code. No messages left. Will block scumbag scammers. The government does nothing when you report these calls

Well put and good information.  I agree with you, but also understand and share other posters frustration.  The wheels of Investigation and Justice grind very, very  sloooowwwwlly!

Like everyone else here, I got the same call today, same Name "Castaneda, Luis" and this number; an area code I did not recognize, certainly not local to us.

BUT, as I was expecting a call from a major metropolitan Teaching Hospital, I sometimes get calls from Residents and Interns who use their own personal cells to respond, and they can be 'from' most any area of the country.  So, I've taken to picking up these calls and just listening without speaking.  A real, 'live' caller will usually say, "Hello?  Hello?" after a few seconds of picking up with no response. That's when I demand, "Who's Calling Please."  Have only answered/engaged with a handful of spam calls using this method.  (If I hear a boiler room background when a live person answers, I hang up immediately without responding.)

Today's call was another of the 'dead air' robo calls.  Then, I check 800notes and if I find its spam, I block the number.  I also diligently REPORT EACH and EVERY SPAM CALL to the DNC/FCC.

This works better for me that just ignoring calls or hanging up on the important ones I actually want!  Hope this is helpful to someone else.  Happy Spam-Free Holidays, All!

Caller ID "EILERS ROBERT" left no message! Blocked!!!

Same as everyone else - CID said Castaneda Luis and no message.  They are getting more creative and am just happy haven't found us to harass before now.  We are NJ and unusual area code was huge red flag...but we always screen/let record, so no hope with us.

LUIS CASTANEDA  called my house too.   I have no business with anyone of that name so I did not answer.    This is some sort of scam and I'm not interested.

We got a call from this number today at 11:20 am and didn't answer. The caller ID was CASTANEDA LUIS. No voicemail message was left. Thanks to all who posted information about this number. It will be added to our call blocker.

520-889-5690 has called me a number of times and I don't answer. But when I call back I get a recording stating it's not a working number.

The number is the same but the name changed. Now it was Eilers Robert...

Buy a good call blocker then block the area code. Unknown and area code blocked.

Total scam as all these nonsense calls are. From a " Luis Castaneda"  which translates to nobody as this caller ID is fake like all the rest.

Received a call today from this number.  I did not answer.  No message left.  CID: Castaneda Luis.  I do not answer calls from unknown numbers.  Appreciate reports from others above.

Senior scam
