Answered and heard an pre-recorded female say something about the FBI recommends that you have a security system installed in your home and so does your local police dept. "If you allow us to put a sign in your yard advertising the security system, we will install it for you free of charge" - Hung up.

Just got the call, my phone went RING RING and it was this number. I answered and the person on the other end croaked at me like a frog and then I said "who is this" he started making pig noises and hung up.

I cannot take this anymore this madness needs to stop immediately I'm reporting it right now to the PTA, the CBSA, the FBI and my local police department and if anyone else gets a telephone call from here I suggest you do too. This sick person belongs in a federal prison, for life.

    Next in line
Answered call on cell- recorded message started with "the FBI reports" and I hung up. Have had this message on my home answering machine before. It doesn't say who the company is, very suspicious. Supposedly they want to put a sign in my yard for an alarm company. Spam or sales, but either way junk.

I can appreciate your annoyance with unknown callers and the frustration at not knowing how they mined your number. However, please rest assured it has NOTHING to do with Capital One. The timing was coincidental but nothing more. I've been with Capital One for over 25 years. They are a top notch organization that hands out customer service in spades. They have been there for me through a few cases of disreputable merchants and their fraud department in such matters is diligent. If you have any reason to suspect that it came from capital one, call them. Not only will they assist you will find you are looking in the wrong place. I do not work for Capital one. I'm a private citizen. I use to have accounts with Citibank years ago. If you won't trouble with your accounts every month, and an outfit more than willing to sell you phone number....I point the finger at them. They were HORRIBLE in terms of accounting and the last 2 years my husband and I were with them, EVERY SINGLE MONTH FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS was spent calling to have them correct the accounting. And a nasty attitude to boot. Now there's a bank that should fail and not be bailed out my the taxpayers when they do. If you've had similar problems with them or others, you actually might want to consider Capital One. I have been headache free for over 20 years now and I WILL NOT look at any credit offers that come in every month from someone else. THey aren't just good, they are very, very good. I'm sorry about the harrassment you're receiving. I despise it too and it's very uncomforting to know that someone with nothing better to do with their is mining personal information and god only knows for what reasons, none of which are probably good. Peace and prosperity.
