Fake Debt Collectors. They change numbers every month or so and continue to call with a recording saying you have a returned item from your bank.

Recorded [***] message about a returned item, bout to garnish my wages.

Received similar message as detailed in other posts.  After multiple calls I answered and was transferred to an operator who began to ask a series of identity related questions.   SEEMED VERY PHISHY so i opted to hang up.

I just got a call saying the same thing the operators name was Ashley Jamison. I immediately called my bank and they said it was fraudulent.

Got phone call from 5595738780, picked it up but I did not saying anything, automated msg said I owed money….
Scam!

This 559-573-8780 called twice, 40 minutes apart leaving the same message of a returned item from my bank. It must be a scam because I have money in my bank and have not have any returned items otherwise my bank would of called and emailed an alert. SCAM!!

just got a call, they are called data check America.  as soon as I asked where they were located, they hung up.

I just received same message stating that we're going to garnish my wages due to a returned check. I pressed 1 to take care of it and it goes to a full voicemail. Hmmm Yesterday I received a call from a different number and spoke to agent who claimed to be a Sr. legal advisor. This is a scam I looked up said business and contacted BBB and there is no record only fraud complaints that had been filed against this made up company.

Received same call hit 1 then was told was for a bounced check from 2003 written to local nwspaper. Called nwspaper. Account closed in 2009 when I cancelled. Where are they getting check information?  Gave them no information, simply said no and goodbye.

I did the same thing hitting one and it went to a full voicemail

Just received a call from the same number. They left the same message stating I owed money for a bounced check and I had 24 hrs to respond before wage garnishment.  I don't write checks. When I called back I was hung up on. Never spoke with anyone.

Scam.

I just got called from this number and the lady was EXTREMLY rude.  They said I owed $185 for a check I wote to Me N Eds for $15.00 back in...wait for it.....2002! Then when I asked for info on their company and that I wanted them to mail me the info, they threatened to see me in court. I hung up on the rude lady.

Same here. It was fromy 2002. How are they getting these information.  I just got a call from them this morning!!

I received the same call saying I owe money from 2002. I stated I dont write checks and informed them about making frad calls and the law regarding 10 year status of limitations and they said they will be garnishing my wages and hung up me

I just received the same call. Saying I had 2 bad checks that total came out to over $400 for not paying. Said I can settle account or have payments split in two. I told them to mail me something or give me number to call and she said this was a courtesy call and they dont mail anything or give number to call back. Sent me to a web site for Data Check Of Nevada. Web site did not have any information besides my full name and two phone numbers (my recent number and a made up number they put). After a few seconds, caller hung up the phone.

Also calls from 404-481-3807 .  Uses a CID, (at least in one case) of "Data Check of Nevada".  Google says the site is hacked.  The scammers may be using it as a phony CID.

In any event, serious debt scammers.  Ignore and block the calls.  Absurd "bounced check" scam.  If anyone writes a bad check, they first hear about it from the bank.  Then, if the bank chooses, it can file a complaint with law enforcement.  Debt collectors have nothing to do with bad checks.  Only a court can garnish wages.  Debt collectors have nothing to do with it.  Ignore and block these calls.

They called my cell in regards to a returned check. Supposedly the was written by my husband's ex-wife....to pizza hut for $17 in 1993! CRAZY SCAMMERS!!!

The company I just posted claimed to have some offices in Nevada.  The web sites are similar.  Whois has the one in Nevada under a proxy service, and the one in Georgia listed under a different name at the Windcliff address.

Also the Nevada one claims they are on Facebook and LinkedIn, but they are not.

they called me about a check from me n eds back in 2003.my wife worked for them,and continued employment for another 2 years after date on check,gee me n eds never said nothing bout it.it was a check we wrote that never even bounced they put nsf on photo copy of check.they have some nerve, I knew it was a scam...so i screamed some obscenities at collector Jess and told her to fu*k off,She then called me back and said i should watch who i'm cussing out because they have my address, STUPID ALL THE WAY.
