Called my cell phone trying to sell health insurance. Michigan has a 'do not call' list and my phone is on it.. Caller would not get off the phone. Kept feigning he didn't know about it being a cell phone or the state policy. Was obviously just trying to get people annoyed.  

In Michigan because this unsolicited business called a cell phone and they called a 'do not call' number and because they did not get off the phone when requested they are subject to being sued.

Thanks! I am keeping a record/spreadsheet, and am going to file a FEDERAL CRIMINAL COMPLAINT with both the FCC and my carrier Verizon. But I will add the BBB to the list of who I file complaints to. Maybe the "more the merrier".... and I may actually get someone to "notice" and do something about this! Mahalo and Aloha from Hawaii!

This is the first time for THIS number - 561-972-5440 - I did NOT answer, and tehy did NOT leave a message. I have recorded ALL UNSOLICITED calls on a spreadsheet, and once I fill the page, I WILL file this with the FCC, Verizon, AND (as someone so nicely informed) the BBB.
IF this IS a "business", then the BB should take care of it. Otherwise I am pretty sure the FCC with Verizon should take care of thsi problem... I HOPE.
But as they say - "The more, the merrier", and in this case, I WILL find someone to get rid of this HARASSMENT!

Got a call from this number state that "we will read a meter" and left.

I had received a phone call from this number and they didn't leave a message

They are calling at least 3 times a day. I think it is a computer dialing, I have asked them not to call this number we are on the do not call registry, my husband has asked them please do not call us anymore. He sleeps days, I have a broken ankle I am sick of answering this and it wakes him up.

I get calls from this number listed all hours of the day, evening and all through the weekend.  I never answer the phone, I just let them leave a message. I call them back and I get told "Thank you for calling the diabetes.com hotline. This happens just because one fills out forms for school information then that goes into a Nationwide database to hound you into every single company targeting college students and those just starting out. Its a nusance and I for one need it to stop.

As so many others have reported I have been getting calls from this number for months, a minimum of 18 calls, likely more. It is usually Mike who calls me. Every call they are told not to call back. I consider it outright harassment as they will actually argue with me that this is there first call and I must be confusing them with another company. These calls come at all hours even late at night.  I have no medical circumstance that I would require their services.  I do not participate in any sweepstakes or generally give my phone number out. Today I am going to report them to the Michigan Attorney General. Enough is enough.

thanks for the info I did not fill out any forms and I have not requested any info from them I am also on the federal do not call list but that doesn't seem to stop them I monitor my calls but I do have family in florida

It is illegal to call a cell phone by anyone like this.  You do not have to have it listed on the National Do Not Call List.  The Naitonal Do Not Call List has been made permanent and you no longer have to update it.  I thnk that these people have found out something that I know about the problems with the National Do Not Call List.  I do not want to say what it is in case they do not know, but I feel that they do know.  It is a tragedy in this country when you no longer have any privacy in your own home.  I had a company call on my cell phone and I told them that I was reporting them immediately to the National Do Not Call people, and after doing so, I sent them a text message informing them that I had filed a report against them.  They never called my cell phone again.  It is illegal for any company to call your cell phone.  They called here today with a number of 561-972-5440 and the Caller ID read Jupiter, FL.  We did not anwer, but they did not leave a message either.  So, my advice to those who are getting calls on their cell phones is to immediately report it to the folks in Washington, DC and then let the caller know via text message that it is illegal for them to call your cell and you have reported them to the N.D.N.C folks.
