those are spam marketers, they buy/steal/hack  lists to spam sh.t to. If you are on DNC and have not done business with that company in past 18 months you can sue them 1000 per incident. Call that 571 area number and request to be removed  if after 24 you keep getting calls/record it and build a legal case. I will. I am sick of all this [***].

One problem with calling back and asking to be removed is : you will confirm your phone number is valid, and you might get even more calls from other places as the "leads" "lists" that is you,will be sold and given to others

Just received a telephone call from these people on my private, unlisted cell phone. I am also on the Do Not Call List. Thanks to the poster who provided the link for the Do Not Call List, as you can make a complaint against someone who continues to call. Haven't read the requirements yet for making the complaint, but will be checking into it. Thanks to everyone who is sharing their own experiences with these type of calls. This website is really hepful.

This is the second call in two days from this 571 area code which shows somewhere in VA. I know nobody in VA. I don't call back any number that is not familiar to me.

Got a call from these people... the other person on the phone sounded like he might be African American male from the south...

I Answered...

Me:"I'm very interested in what you've got to offer... but first, what are you wearing?"

Them:"Um... What?"

Me:"You see, I only do business with people who are like minded.  Are you wearing a sundress?"

Them:"No, sir... it's just a blue shirt-"

Me:"That won't do take that off."

You probably complain about people being on welfare too! Telemarketers are trying to earn a living at a difficult and vexing job they usually would prefer not to be doing. Its not illegal. They're trying. Get your values in perspective.

This company is obviously telemarketing and when you call their number they give you the option to remove your number from the list immediately. If you do not want to trust their service mail to FCC.

And FTC is not an OBVIOUS error as suggested and below. Federal Trade Commission is an appropriate government branch to report objectionable trade practices.

FTC is Federal Trade Commission -- not an obvious error AND there is nothing obviously dishonourable about being a telemarketer, no more than being a Lawyer or working for the IRS.

Called today and went to voice mail, automated message saying something about how I won a 6 day vacation to Cancun, Mexico, and a 5 day vacation to Orlando, Florida. The first part of the recording was cut off because the automated message was playing through the greeting. Sounds like a scam to me since I never entered any contest to win a vacation.

I thought robocalls are illegal beginning Sep. 1. Please read the "Latest News" article " Robocall ban starts Tuesday" (link at right near the top of this page). NOTIFY the FTC if you get a "ROBOCALL" from this or other numbers!

Called the number (using a free public phone) and got a recorded message for their get off their call list. The message has a distinct accent.

The message does not identify the marketing company. Highly suspicious, and is possibly a sham company doing a scam. They may also be collecting bonafide phone numbers for future calls. In any case, one cannot even tell if the same company calls again and again! If they get in trouble with the feds, would they blame the "foreigners" that handle their call list? Who knows!

I JUST got a call from this number, missed it..and am i to expect more calls? I can't be having this going on. It seems as if everyone thinks this number is for a different thing, could this mean that all these different scams/companys/collection agencies etc. rent out this number to call from? Im confused.. help is greatly appreciated.

The world revolves around telemarketing you fool!  Nothing gets sold without cold calls.  Those attempting to solicit information for illegal use, yes, those people are scum.  Sales people cold calling, pitching legitimate products are not scum.  The scum are the ignorant people in the community who do not understand commerce and dislike money; like you, you commie.

Just got a call from this number. Some guy named Jerry said I won a promotional trip for 11 days and nights to Cancun.

Won a 7 day trip to Bahamas. I just hung up.
