I also received a call  this morning from a man with an Indian accent from this same number.  Same modus operandi as the others have reported here.  It was through a very poor connection and it was a little difficult to understand.  But I immediately suspected t was a scam and told him that I was going to report it to the FBI.  He replied to go ahead and give them his phone number.   He probably isn't afraid that he would get caught but at least it might stop him from calling me again.

It appears same guy called me today morning at 1.01pm from ERochester, NY threatening me to call him otherwise beware of IRS consequences. I smelled something fishy since I have nothing to do with IRS Rochester. This is a big scam & should be investigated. Right now.

Caller says he represents IRS & if I do not call on this number, be ready for consequences.
I did not call since I think it as scam.

I got a call few minutes ago. He called himself Alex Cooper. I knew he was fraud because he has called me before. I asked him for his badge number. Reminded him that it would be ok for an officer to give me that information. I asked him his phone number - he said it's there on the caller-id (585-310-3285). I told him I want the local police phone  number... he said it's 911.

I then told him that I would conference him with the police station. He said go ahead. I then called 911.When he heard the police on the other line he just hung up.

So, they are intelligent enough to be on the line until you conference call them in... so please conference them in or use your cell phone and put it in on speakerphone while this fraud is on your home number....!

Hope he does not try this again!

He did the same thing today, and claim to be Alex Martin, and gave me a false case number and ask me to call another man or IRS. I told him he sounded like a scam and I am going to report him to police. IRS will never call you to discuss case. This is obviously a scam trying to trick your SSN or something.

I got the call too with the same number and same guy. This is really creepy!!!! Thank you guys for your messages. I hope they can get these wherever they are.

I have also received several such calls & message on my VM from this number & suspected this to be a scam.  I have been ignoring these. Thanks for the posts.

We got a call today 2/2/14. Same M.O.  It was very garbled and the man had a heavy accent.  All we could make out was that he was from the IRS,  and the phone number to call back.  I think he also mentioned us or our attorney callng back (scare tactic) I know that the IRS would send a letter if it was serious so we googled the number and found this site. Thank you for the info here.  We also have a recording if it helps to nab these criminals!

This is an IRS scam and the phone number should be reported to the FTC. If you go to the IRS site and read their warning about IRS scams, you will find that there are a lot of them going one. I answered a call from this number at 6:13am which was intended for my wife. The man hand an Indian or Chinese accent, echo on the phone, bad English--the whole nine yards. When the caller threatened to send an IRS agent to the house because I would not let him speak to my wife, I told him to please do. He then hung up.

Beware of IRS Scam. This man with an Indian accent pretended to be an IRS employee and called me from 585-310-3285 (per the caller ID on my phone) on 2/3/2014. he said his name is Alex Martin. He claimed that there was problems with my tax returns. I asked him to give me a phone number and his IRS ID number so that I could call back and verify his information, he gave me 585-310-3285, and a fake ID number of 57469421. I told him IRS never called me over the phone, they just sent me letters in the past, and I said "You sounded like an IRS scam, and I would report you to the police." He insisted that he was a real IRS employee.

After I hanged up the phone, I did a quick Google Search of with the phone number
585-310-3285. Sure enough, this is a scam, and he did this to many people before. I am surprised this man is so abrasive, and use his real phone number to do a scam, and I am also surprised he is not caught by law enforcement yet. Here is a link for related incidents:

We got the same call.  He claimed to be Alex Martin with the IRS and he spoke with an accent too.  He called 3 times continuously (within seconds) but I did not pick up because I did not recognize the phone number.  The 4rd time he called I picked up.  He asked for my husband and said that it was in regards to my husband's income tax underpayment.  Thanks for the warning.

A man with an Indian accent called the house before 9am claiming he's with the IRS and our returns being investigated. My wife asked for him to send a letter instead. He asked to call back a Dexter Cruz 585 310 3285. He tried calling several times. Do not call back.

Man called me this AM claiming to be from IRS about a problem with my taxes. Identified himself as "Joseph Martin" but had a heavy foreign accent. I asked for a number that I could call back, he said 585-310-3285 x1920. I asked: his address; his job at IRS; what was the problem w my taxes. He refused to provide any info, said I needed to talk w his investigative officer. I said I thought he was a fraud and hung up. He called me back threatening to send an investigative team to my house; I cannot repeat here the language he used to describe me or what the team would do to me.

I got a phone call this morning around 9:30 am from someone who claims to be from the IRS telling me that I have some issues regarding my income tax. He sounds like someone from Africa and barely speaks English. He asked me to contact his senior manager named Baxter Cruize at phone number 6072184768. There was no one picking up the line at this number.
When I called the number shown on the caller ID 5833103285, no one answered and when the telephone answering machine switched on, the person is called Baxter Cruize. This is very suspicious because the IRS do not notify intended target by phone, and only by written correspondence. I recommend that you do not provide your personal information to them.

I got the same message indicated above. An Indian guy left a message on my voice mail stating that he was from IRS (Internal Revenue Service); he wants me to call him propbably to ask personal info. He left a name which is not clear. It is clear that is a scam.

Somebody called like from IRS and asked to call back at this number. Looks like  spam
