Called my cell shortly after I'd made a call from it.  I got suspicious because I don't often use my cell so I wonder if there's some sort of scanner that "finds" active cellphone numbers.  Searched for the caller's number online; allegedly it's located in Sherwood Park or Nisku (both in Alberta, Canada).

Said it came from Sherwood Park, Alberta. Picked it up thinking it might be a courier guy, but realized I wasnt expecting anything on this day - so I immediately hanged up and blocked the phone. I believe its a scam because when I picked up, I stayed quiet to see if the person on the other end would say something and there was no sound for the few seconds it was on.

Similar experience to A's comments above.  Block the number!

Have received two calls from this number. Did not pick up either call. Searched the number and have now blocked the call.

Had a call from this number but didn't answer it. Left a 0 second voicemail. After reading the comments, blocking and reporting as spam.

Same experience as previous posters (except no message). Blocked number.

Received a short voicemail from this number.  Only a short sound recorded.  Less than a second.

Recorded message saying "...tell City Hall...to receive your textlink press 9"

Recieved a call but didn't pick up. Late 2020 I got a phone call from a different # claiming they were the police. The police never ask for information. It's either in person or mail when they do (the nearby police station told me).Never ever tell anyone information over the phone is the key. Anyhow I sent a text asking "who is this" from the 587-957-0102 #. It's a landline. If it's a random friend, it's important they'd leave a message. My advice. Never pick up from a number you don't know. They prey on people's anxieties and fears.

I just came across an answer to ur question. I am also with Telus. I stumbled across this accidentally on the Telus app logged in on my account. There is a spot u can go and click on. It’s called manage call control. And it’s located under the plans/Tavel button at the bottom of the screen on the right side. Then click at the top of screen on devices, then u will see the manage call control. Click on that and follow the steps displayed. It will also explain more about this feature and how it works. It is free as well. I would think other providers have something simpler in place. Good luck

I received a call from this number on my cellphone at 6:17 pm today. It displayed as a number from Sherwood Park, Alberta. I missed the call, and they didn't leave a message. After reading this page, I blocked the number.

received a call this morning with a recorded message that they were from "Tell City Hall" and were conducting a survey. You were instructed to press a number to participate. I see that it is still going on over a year later. Exact same situation.

I saw this number call me a couple times, I finally answered, it was quiet for about 10 seconds, then someone came on and tried to sell me sirrus satellite radio packages, I declined

Received a call from this (unknown) number shortly after 5:00pm on a Saturday. I didn't answer it...no message was left.  After finding this page, I also blocked the number.

They called and left me 3 voicemails in one day; all with absolutely nothing in the voicemail. It’s clearly an auto-dial, the. It ques when someone answers. That’s why there is a 10-15second delay for someone to respond. Even though THEY are phoning YOU lol 😏

Same thing as above, except my phone auto declined the calls due to spam.
