I got this call too,i live in Seattle, WA. The best thing is to block the number, and ignore them, they'll get bored and move on. I had calls like these and it works.

same as everyone else. i called back about 2 mins later and it says dissconected. called me two days in a row.

I just got a call from this number. I usually don't pick phone calls I know nothing of. So later, I got a call again but this time, it showed up as private. I decided to do a check up on this number and here I am.
This is crazy....something must be done!

i have received 9 calls in less than 2 hours and when i called back finally all i could here was moaning Please let any one else know not to answer  i'm callinf t-mobile and reporting this in the morning.

Received a call with a recorded, robotic message claiming to be National Grid.

I received a call from this number. I answered it but there was no one there. I thought I might have pushed the wrong button. I looked up the number using Google.

I have received over 50 calls from these fools today.........yes I said FIFTY!!!!  I am pissed. I have not answered a single one of them today, as I've been at work all day.  I live in Denver, CO.  They never left any messages. It doesn't appear that even if I answer the calls that they will stop.  I guess I'll try to block the # or report them to my wireless carrier.  Are they only calling people's cell phones?

I got the call on a cell phone that I rarely use- or at least, I rarely give out the number.

My husband got a call this morning saying that he won $500,000.  BS!  They wanted him to send $1500 to Manila Philippines.  The guy's name was Benjamin Chase and the other was Angelo Gallardo.  They had two numbers that I have 601-429-9008 and 888-267-3576.  When I got a hold of Benjamin Chase from Chase and Associates (BOGUS NAME by the way)I asked for their Tax id. CLICK, he hung up and guess what, DISCONNECTED!!!

I got a call from this number this morning and no one was on the line.  Looked up the number on reverse lookup and the number shows as a landline in Vicksburg, MS.  Checked the number via Google and found that it a scam line being used to promote several scams and frauds.

I just got a call from this number and they left a message from National Grid... probably because I haven't paid the bill in two months. It's for collections!

I just got this call, as well, didn't pick up, my blackberry has an App, called Number Cop, It flagged it before I could answer, but after reading all of these posts, I have to say this is the most interesting number I've ever read about.

I got a call from this number, this has been ongoing for days.. they call and hang up I then get a phone call from a 6014299016, they hang up too!! I then have been receiving phone calls that are anonymous and they hang up when I answered. I cant get this stop no matter how many times I pick up the pone and tell them to f*** off!!!

What carriers is everyone using?  I'm using AT&T. I noticed a couple other's using AT&T.  If pretty much everyone is an AT&T customer I would say there was a security leak.

I also received a call from them but they hung up before I could answer.  I found the following info about this number on another website:  

"The phone number 601-429-9008 is used by call spoofing programs. If someone doesn't want their real phone number showing up on a caller ID, there's services they can use to show a fake phone number on the caller ID. The actual number that's showing up on caller IDs (601)429-9008 is really a disconnected number. A lot of bill collection agencies, research companies and scammers use these services to try and get you to answer the phone. They know if their real number showed up (like an 800 number) that the consumer wouldn't asnwer the phone. Multiple companies can use the same call spoofing phone number. I hope this info helps!"
