Got a call from this number saying my windows computer had major problems and they wanted to take control to show me how badly it was infected when i told them windows was not on my computer they hung up. MAJOR SCAM.

They are now claiming to be Microsoft calling about a computer sending out junk mail.  hang up.

A male called from 604-678-9476 at 6 a.m, claiming it was the 'Windows Service Centre' and they had received messages from my computer that detected malicious spyware and viruses and asked if I was aware of the problem. I said I did not have Windows; he said 'our mistake our research made an error'.

unsolicited call at 10:35 Feb 9 - I said hello 3 times and a very sweet recorded female voice said goodbye.  Who was it?  No listings found by telus reverse phone book.

Received a call from 604-678-9476 at 9:18pm - June 9, 2013 from woman with an East Indian accent. She started to talk about Windows on my computer.  I knew it was the typical phone scam and hung up.  I wish there were a way to stop these fraudulent phone calls.

Missed call only

This number is a long distance carrier card. When people use a phone card to place a long distance call this is the number that comes up but it is connected to the card not the caller.  My son has been away and when he calls me using a phone card this number comes up but in his case it is a legit call.  I would say any "business" related calls connected to this number would be worthy of questioning because they could be calling from anywhere in the world.

This number comes up but no name shown.  Didn't answer and there was no message on the answering machine.  Guess they hung up right away to try to get the next person.  Well, they didn't get me........

They called again just now.  Didn't they take the hint when I didn't pick up yesterday?  Anyway, I no pick up.

I also received a call at 9:45pm from this number that just said British Columbia and as I did not recognize the number I did not answer -
these numbers never leave a message so it is scammers or telemarketers

Received call from this number and was told that someone was hacking into my computer - he said his name was Frank Smith which was a complete give away as the caller had a heavy accent (perhaps east indian?) he wanted me to start my computer and said he'd guide through some procedure to make my computer safe from hackers or at least twart the hacking attempts.
I told him I'd contact the police department to report that someone was hacking into my computer asked fro his phone number: he gave me two - 604-678-9476 which was the original (re-dialed but got a busy signal) and another 604-914-9884 ( when dialed got a "not in service" announcement).
As many of you who have written with your experiences regarding  or the other number it is a scam to obtain information to steal identities. Thanks to all of you for your comments and warnings.

I got a call from the above number and a man with a heavy East Indian accent identified himself as Adam John and "warned" me of  a hacker. He read a computer ID number to me and insisted it was mine and that his company had contracted with Microsoft, etc. etc. I kept challenging him and he finally shouted, "just hang up, Madam!" So I did. Weird though.

Just got a call from this number at 10:15 pm  wanted to talk about windows on my computer or something like that. I stopped them in mid sentence, told them to [***] and I was going to bed...they hung up...

Heavy East Indian accent. Called himself Alex. Ran through the "I've detected a problem with your Windows computer"  scam.  I strung him along and then eventually  told him he was full of sh*t. At which point he called me a motherf*cker and hung up....

Number is still being used. Called me at 10:32 AM on Oct 6th, I ignored it, no msg left.

They said they were from Windows technical support.  I don't have Windows.  They have called multiple times and when I say I don't have Windows they hang up on me.  Or, when I said, oh, you've called me before, they also hung up on me.  

Yeah, they still calling even now in 2014. cant believe this obvious scammer number is active for so long

tried to do some windows scam on me. i have a mac as well but i trolled for a bit becuase i have no life

5:30 am call from woman with accent calls advising of windows rebate, must listen to me.... Second call from this person, doesn't stop talking so I just told her the time and
Don't call me again!  Dialed number today and immediate busy signal!!  Scammers!!!!
