Call on my landline from this number identified as BRANCH COMFORT, but when I answered a recording told me there was a lawsuit filed against me by the IRS, and I was to call a number, which had a 202 area code, to inquire about it.  I did not have a pencil and paper handy to record the number given.  In reading some of the 800Notes messages related to this number, I find that calls were said to be from Microsoft, and not the IRS.  Minutes after this call I received another call from UNAVAILABLE 1. Now I wonder if these phony calls will ever end -- I get at least two or three a day!

Got a call from this #, caller id said payphone. They hung up.

This one was an automated message saying that the IRS was going to sue me for tax evasion. In the past we have had other live people leaving the same message. At least the automated call is with a voice that can be understood. Same deal though, the IRS does not call this way, etc.

Just to clarify, caller ID suggested it was from Branch Comfort, but automated voice said IRS.

Got a call from this number telling me last attempt to contact me, IRS is filing a lawsuit against me. Call 202-239-1058 for further information. Called the number and got a busy signal. Called back and phone rang and went to busy. The IRS mails notifications to you, they never call. On the phone with IRS to report these numbers now.

Received a phone call today from 607-363-9777, stating that the IRS has filed a lawsuit against us and this is our final notice.
Since when does the IRS give notice by phone?  This is quite unsettling.

Told me to call another number so the IRS would not put a lean on my property

Claiming to be IRS saying that they had a lawsuit against me. Told me i should call a 220 number

This number called with an automated message telling me the IRS is sueing me and I have to call their number back.  Total scam.  So sick of this.  I think the government do not call list is really a front for scammers.

They just called me but hung up on me....GRRR!!!!

caller ID said "payphone."   I picked up on the first ring and just set the phone down and ignored it for several minutes then hung up.   We are getting "payphone" calls all of a sudden now instead of "directory assistance" displaying on the ID.   I think it's the same scammers.

Scum of the Earth need to get real, honest jobs.

Got call on cell from607 363 9777. It was on my cell.Left a voice mail said the IRS is going to sue me. Left a different call back number. Seems like they change who they represent. Well it is getting near tax time!

IRS has apparently filed a lawsuit against us. Ha. Yes, I know it's a scam. Beware!

Claimed to be from IRS.  Wanted me to call for details about a lawsuit they claimed was being filed.  Obvious scam, especially since the number belongs to a pay phone.

We just had a call from this number; we didn't answer and no message left. Thanks to all that post here so we can check on these scam calls. Number has been blocked.

Same here SCAM IRS call, IRS never, I repeat never calls you on the phone first.
