- thatpageJust Received a call from a 'gentleman' with a very heavy Indian Accent. he told me he was from Windows and that my computer was sending out many messages, or something like that,,,,and that it was infected......I interrupted him and said I have a computer support company that looks after my system, and that it most certainly was not infected.. He hung up.
- AdrianLamoThese fools just called me. My wife talked to some service tech who could not understand her and she could not understand him. I traced the number and it looks like it's attached to a segment of a country road in New York. No domiciles in the location but some up or down the road. Anyway, I just blocked the number. Idiots.

- lin JaynesRobo Call ,called saying they were from The IRS, I didn't call them, Know better, however be warned! They called my elderly 75 year old neighbor in Dec/2014. Scared him into running to the bank & sending $8000 to them, told him he was going to jail for back taxes, Irony is he owed NOTHING to The IRS.
But he was told he filed incorrectly, then they recalled him back the same day & told him they discovered another incorrect tax return & that was an additional $11,000 due.
I got involved , called his bank & spoke to the Manager & told her of the scam & that he was standing in her bank ,in P.J's & Slippers, shouldn't be hard to see, please freeze his Account, call IRS for him, as he was Rattled & about to be bilked of every dime ,he & his 93 year old wife had left.
She stopped his withdrawal & although he had already sent The $8000 , he was calmed down & that was the end of that. Be very careful , The IRS will notify you by mail, anything they want, in addition to a call, never fall for this scam, The IRS does Not call, Threaten & demand immediate funds that day, as these scammers did..- Caller: ?????????? Said IRS?
- Buddycall came in sounded like a recording..'msg, this is your final call from the IRS, we have been trying to get ahold of you", I hung up. This is no doubt a scammer. Can someone shut them down. What ever happen to the federal/state 'do not call list'?
- mikeThese are criminal extortionists operating in overseas boiler rooms using VOIP to alter their identities and locations and out of the reach of US law enforcement.
If someone calls saying he's an IRS agent and demands that you send money immediately, hang up.
It's a phone scam.In fact, it tops the IRS "Dirty Dozen" list of tax scams this year, and it's been surging in recent months, the agency said Thursday.
The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), which oversees the IRS, has received reports of 290,000 scam calls since October 2013 and said nearly 3,000 victims have been swindled out of $14 million so far.
By altering their caller ID number to make it look like they're calling from an IRS office, these scammers often threaten vulnerable people like the elderly and new immigrants with things like arrest, deportation or the loss of their driver's license if they don't pay immediately for money purportedly owed.
Often leaving messages that say it's "urgent" you call them back, the scammers use common names and sometimes say they are from the IRS Criminal Division. They may even claim to know the last four digits of your Social Security number and send follow-up emails that appear to be from the IRS, TIGTA said.
They often demand that payments be made by prepaid debit card.
Once they make their threats, the scammers have been known to call back and again disguise their caller ID so it appears they are calling from the police department or the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
Or sometimes when they call, they may say you have a refund due and ask you to provide personal information so you can claim it.
The real IRS will usually contact you by regular mail first, if it needs to contact you at all. And the agency never demands immediate payment by phone or asks for credit card or debit numbers if they do call. It also never asks for personal or financial information by email, text or social media.
If you get what you suspect is a scam call, report it to TIGTA through its Web site or call 800-366-4484.

- BobI got a call from 607-735-0870 on February 18, 2015 at 1:36 pm. This was my second mystery call this afternoon. My first call said "Scottsdale AZ" on my caller ID and it was about 1:00 pm. Neither time did the callers leave a message even though my answering machine was on. This time my caller ID said, " New York." I have been on the Do Not Call list for ten years, not that it does much good. It is still an annoyance when a telemarketer or scammer calls and you have to interrupt what you're doing to get up and look at the phone to decide whether or not to answer it. Most of my telemarketing calls come in from approximately 1:00 pm through 3:00 pm.
- Anonymous replies to PennyReceived a call from this number claiming to be the IRS, and that we were being sued. Wanted us to call back ASAP to verify information. Contacted IRS, they say they do not contact you by telephone, but only by mail. Blocked the number, but within 2 hours, the same call came in from Boulder, Colorado. Please beware! Don't return the call, but block the number(s).

- JCReceived a robo call on March 11 stating it was the IRS and they were filing a lawsuit against me. It instructed me to call 209-813-2917. My Privacy Star app shows 607-735-0870 as coming from a PAY phone in Elmira, NY and the 209-813-2917 as being located in Angels Camp, CA.
The scammers are running rampant right now. From Google listings, healthcare offers to now, the IRS. I never answer a call I don't recognize. I google the number, read the reports and check it out on my blocking app. I'm up to 169 blocked numbers and the list grows daily. NO ONE is ever going to stop these ruthless jerks from calling - its just not going to happen. Your best bet is to download a blocking app (if the calls are coming to your mobile phone) or get a blocking device for your land line. Oh, and the Do Not Call List, well it is about as effective as any other part of the federal government.- Caller: IRS???
