Am overseas at the moment and had this message from Ryan SMITH (major eastern accent) left on my home phone with the same threats. Despite all the publicity, these scams Do catch people, which is why they continue...look at the Microsoft one that has been running for years. I get at least 3 a week still here in Australia. All we can do is talk to our friends and family and stress to not fall for this or at least talk to someone before acting on it. usually it's the elderly that fall for it unfortunately

Got the same call & threatening message today (in North Vancouver)  from Officer Ryan Smith from Revenu Canada :(

Got same message from this "officer" Ryan Smith, threatening of tax fraud, lawyer etc. He probably tries to scam out personally information.

this is scam to get personal information (i.e. SIN no#...date of birth.....banking info)....ID theft....CRA does not operate this way, as they would
more likely send you a Registered letter.....and would never threaten you over phone like that.....scare tactics......although no one fell for it.....we warn others......as they are not looking for $...rather Personal data.

Actually, I want to take the call and play along.. Act dumb and then hit where it hurts in the end!  Record the call and turn it into Revenue Canada.

These things have been around for a long time. Easy to see how people a bit older might fall for this. Another one is when you call a help line for your computer and most say they need to come on to your computer. Legitamite ones do this too. I got suspicious for some reason and told him to give me his number and I would call him back. He argued and then hung up. They are parasites of our society.

Just had Asian sound guy, same Ryan Smith call me blah blah

Left a message on my answering machine that I was charged with tax evasion call him right away if not a warrant for my arrest will be issued and his name is Ryan Smith from Revenue Canada

said its revenue canada calling and there is fraud on your tax, call now or contact a lawyer to call

i received a message from officer Ryan Smith, telling me to call revenue canada at this number or ask my lawyer to call because there is suspected tax fraud suspected.

Just received a cal in Parksville BC, from the same Officer Ryan Smith with a strong accent from somewhere in India, so I called Revenue Canada and reported it . Good Luck

I just keep calling him back to duck with him .... I told him I was from interpol and scared him away

I answered the call and a recording of a man, with a French accent, came on saying he was Officer Ryan Smith with Revenue Canada and that we should call him back at Revenue Canada right away or have our lawyer call him back instead.  He didn't ask for anyone by name.  He left number 613-707-0339.

Message on my machine.  Same as above.  Tempted to call back and ask who he was looking for.

I had the same message today in Victoria. Very threatening in his comments about the apparent tax fraud

I just received a call from this same guy.

I had the same message left on my machine in Delta.  This one did mention my name and also had very broken English.  Either I or my lawyer was to call back.

Got this call in Burnaby. He left a voicemail saying " its officer Ryan Smith calling from CRA". Goes on to say call him back asap or ask your lawyer to call instead.
