A lady on the phone said mathu you didn't fill the form. we are calling from rcmp . you have to fill the form. no other detail given when I asked what form you are talking about, I didn't receive any form to to fill. she was bluffing she was rude with filhy language and hung up.

Received a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be from Immigration.  They asked my name and I responded by asking him his name.  He started swearing at me and I hung up.

This is a legitimate number that gets displayed on your phone when these criminals call you so be careful.  Never give out any information at all when you receive calls from anyone.  Take their name and number and call them back once you have confirmed their details.

This is number that gets displayed on the caller ID. The person said they were calling from CIC and had an complaint lodged against me, by the Canadian embassy in my native country. Further into the call i had a supervisor, who wanted my SIN number. I asked that  it be sent in writing  to me and he got angry and said that he was going to hang up and  send the police and RCMP to arrest me , since I was not cooperating!!!

Received call from 6139444000 saying he is calling from CIC and there is legal case against me at my native country. When asked what kind of case and details, he wanted me to provide my personal details. I told him that I dont give it on phone so send me mail and he hung up.

Guy named Jason called from this number today, saying it's CIC and repeating the canard about legal case brought against me; I asked why his gov. ID doesn't show and hanged up. He tried again 2 more times, but I was already on this page, so I didn't answer. Thanks God for internet, where you can check those scammers right away!

Upon further discussion , i was asked to go to western union and pay $1850 if i want to be safe from the court.

Be careful.  Do not give out your personal information.  The guy called my home number.  He had no idea about which country I immigrated from.  Asked me a few question (I gave him my cell number).  He said he will call my cell phone and I have to stay online with him so I can pay 1200$ registration fee.  The minute he mentioned that I have to pay some fee, I knew it was fake.  I told him to send me postal mail and let me take legal action through immigration council. I hung up.

Someone with a indian accent called and did not give out any information other than " I am calling from RCMP", which clearly tells me that this is a fraudulent call. Hung up the phone and called the local police, who did not seem too concerned. The police's response was "well he could have been RCMP and you should have stayed on the phone longer". This is the sort of ignorance that is resulting in more and more people (especially elderly folks) getting robbed blind. There is no sense of urgency or drive from the local authorities to adress a problem that they may not physically see but the scars that are created as a result lasts a long time.

Just received a call from a guy who informed me that my home embassy had registered a complaint against me with the CIC for not filling up a form. Recognizing an Indian accent, I told him to put down the phone and just buzz off. He called me again and swore at me. Please be careful

I received a similar call from Muthu -> Jason ( Bad Canadian accesent and rude guy) -> Vishal Sharma -> Jack Robert today at 10:30 am.

After 1 hrs of threats and garbage I hung up the phone.

Same as everybody else--from CIC but really could not even understand them so I hung up.

Same thing. Got a call supposedly drink immigration saying my home country was suing me. Asked for details and was given the name Alex Weber and an id #744kx102. he also gave me a call back # 1800613744 which isn't't even a number and he told me I needed to talk to a legal representative. I said why and questioned him and he then cut the line.

I do agree, Local Police is somehow showing unconcern, even CIC is not showing much clarity about how to / where to report these scams.

My Mom got a call yesterday - the number was 613-823 9091....same thing....there is a case against you...pay money or be arrested.  My Mom has been a Canadian Citizen for years - and we have taught her to recognize a scam.  Guy go rude...I tried to call him back....but their was a message that number could not be connected.  So we get another call today...the number is 613-944-4000.  And when I called it back...it went to the Foreign Affairs/Trade Development office!  This is not their number.  I called the office and they advised that they are aware of scam and are investigating.  Very weird that when you *69...you get directed to an official Canadian Gov't office.

The guy pretended to be an immigration service advisor from CIC Ottawa.
He gave his name as Jasen Miller with employee ID ON7561. And gave my case file # as CWS6303216

He told me that there is a case lodged against me by Canadian embassy abroad.

The way I talked to him, he got scared and cut off the line.
