have started receiving calls again from 615-383-4260, Police protection Fund.  This number is traced to that telemarket fraud in Nashville, 3200 Hillside Drive, 37212.  This Person or Persons are a complete fraud.  Am looking into type of legal action that can be brought against them.  They are on the internet and list this exact number and name.

Got a call from this number - I live in Claiborne County; almost 200 miles from Nashville.  Did a reverse lookup on the number and found this site.  When I answered - "Hello?"  - there was only silence on the other end; then, after a few seconds it went to dial tone.  I'm on Do NOT CALL list so I wonder if they realized that and gave up?  Thanks to y'all, I now know who-what-where they are and can take more actions if they persist.

You mentioned legal action...  GOOD!  My bet is that if we built a good case and fed it to the FCC they could go with a warrant, collect equipment/computers, etc and eventually put somebody in jail for a loooonng time 'cause, whether folk know it or not, there are laws against this sort of fraud. Call screening is a beautiful thing.  If it were'nt for caller ID, I would be just another statistic waiting to happen in the realm of identity theft.  These people are relentless, and I so wish there was someone or agency out there that could put a stop to them.  I too, am on the National Do Not Call registry, but these guys get away with calling in because they are so-called non-profit agencies.  Now, how do I know that?  If I wish to buy something, I go to the store; if I wish to donate, I contact the agency in person.  No one gets my money that easy.

this number calls a few times a year begging for money, please stop the economy is bad, and I cannot even afford all the groceries after bills are paid at times, so please do not bother us.

Seriously, why would I donate to the Police Protection fund.  We need protecting from THEM!

have called before...long time ago, requested donation, I turned them down. the number came up a few others times on caller id think, but was ignored because it was not answered.  i don't like to talk on the phone, so another stupid call i missed...no big deal.  good while went by, maybe 6 months or more, no calls. then today, the phone rang and when i answered, no reply.  i kept saying hello over and over, because i only glanced at the id screen before i picked it up and saw the 'p's in the name and assumed it was a relative of mine.  but when no one would say anything i was worried something might be wrong. so i was afraid to even take the phone away from my ear to read the screen. i continued to say hello. finally gave up and hung up.  it was about 13 seconds long.  then when i hung up, i saw it said 'POLICE PROTECTI 383-4260' so, i tried to call it back. no answer.

Hello Granddad and Grayghost...I too am interested in doing more than just writing complaints about this company and others. I have politely asked not to be called. I have stridently asked not to be called. I have tired to ignore the calls. I have called ATT and others. Nothing is done. I would like to band together with others and see if something besides complaining can be done. Please feel free to email me back.

Our problem is a little different. We've received calls from "Police Protection" numerous times over the years. Beginning about two years ago, their calls would cause our caller ID not to work after they called. In extreme cases, our phones will ring but aren't able to be answered after their calls. Unplugging the phone and plugging it back in doesn't fix the problem. The call block will not block their number. (They also use several other numbers). AT&T says it's not on their network so they can't do anything. Any suggestions on how I can get rid of them or what they're doing to mess our phones up?

Did not answer, but have answered other calls from them and have asked them not to call me and to take me off the list.

Number called today, showed up as Police Protection. When I answered, they hung up. Have not had this number call before.

They called today at 3:14 PM.  Nobody answered but the answering machine.  No message was left, they just hung up.   The caller ID showed "Police Protection 615-383-4260"

I am on the do-not-call list.  Apparently these jerks slip past all of the red tape in today's laws and remain out there scamming the gullible out of money.

received a call from this number...caller id showed police protection..when i answered and told them my parents were not at home they hung up...did not want me to take a message or anything..i called the number back and the first time it went to a full mailbox and the next time it rang about 5 times and then went to the full mailbox.

A man from this number called @ gave me a speach on how the "POLICE" want us to drive safely and obey the laws...Told me that police officers die everyday while protecting us...Stated that they were asking for dontaions for the "POLICE & THE FAMILIES OF THE FALLEN OFFICERS" told me I would receive a decal for my donation & told me the amounts of the donations...I informed this man this Is a bad time for us due to my husband being layed off...He said he understood and would mail me the decal requiring the smallest donation which was $15.00...He knew my name and my address...He then said that they accept payment by credit card or debit card...I informed this man that I do not give that info out over the phone...He stated he would send me the decal with a return envelope so I could mail It In and told me they accept checks or money orders...The call was odd and worried me...

Received first call from this number (615-383-4260) but did not pick up.  My phones are on the Do Not Call register so I don't answer unknown callers or numbers, especially ones that look like they're solicitors!  It sounded like a man tried to talk while my recording was playing, but he hung up quickly when he realized he was talking to a recording.
