- bb| 1 replyThey sent a card...for a welcoming gift at my new place.once i called it was a coupon book and then tried tosell me environmental water protection??? The things they can say and do
- virginiiaThey called me and sent a card to my new address, then said the welcom gift was water and wanted to sell me a water treatment system.
- NashvilleI as well received a post card in the mail asking for me to contact them. It was signed by Mrs. Burke. I recently just purchased a new home and I believe this is how they got my info.
- 615 732 0536Bunch of bums - don't call them
- Mrs. W replies to bbAgreed! It is a marketing ploy
- Mt. Juliet| 1 replyJust like the responses above, I received a postcard in the mail saying they had a housewarming gift waiting for me. Since there was no company name and the fact it was for a "limited time" threw up red flags. The name is "Miss Burke" on the card. Just someone searching the public records for new home buyers.
- Caller: No Name
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Yamhs replies to Mt. JulietReceived one of these...didn't call. Appears to be some ploy.
- FranklinGot postcard. Thought it was about the gift my realtor ordered for us. Called the number. They offered me a $20 gift card as part of the "welcome wagon" along with a free water test. Total marketing ploy to sell water filter systems. Shady business practice if you ask me.
- Caller: Environmental Water System
- Call type: Text message
- TomI received two or three of the notices below. Some of them said 2nd attempt which made me concerned, thinking it was something rather important. My wife and I are also new home owners, it must be their target demographic: nervous new home owners concerned about the conditions of their property.
Anyway, glad I checked. Here's the yellow post card notice below for reference:

- The stoveI Googled the phone number along with Burke and found this page. I too recently purchased a home and found this little postcard on the mail today. I won't be calling. Thanks for sharing!
Postcard reads: " we have recently been trying to contact you regarding your welcome gift. Since we were unable to reach you by phone we will be able to hold it for only a limited time!
Please call Miss Burke at (615) 732-0536 Monday -Friday 5-9 PM or Saturday 9 am -3pm"
Looks super sketchy. Not even calling!- Caller: "Miss Burke"
- TimSame story, the yellow postcard was either the 2nd or 3rd thing I've received from them. The postcard was hand addressed, though not hand written. At this point I was just curious about what they were trying to sell, searching the phone number brought me to this page.
- TinaHi - I googled BWC and the address and found these posts. The only difference is that I'm in the 954 area code so the phone number was different. Thanks for sharing!
- ZackSame here. Seems like I get some bogus sale gimmick in the mail once a week.

- Sarah| 1 replySame thing! I knew Google would save the day on identifying the shady marketer! Only difference on yellow postcard from "Miss Burke" was the phone number was 615-510-3297. Nice try...it's in the trash now!
- TanyaSent me a pink card saying "WATER UPDATE

- SaraLike most above, received yellow postcard in mail with following message:
"We have recently been trying to contact you regarding your welcome gift. Since we were unable to reach you by phone we will be able to hold it for only a limited time!
Please call Miss Harper at (615)510-3297"
Thought it was a second notice about housewarming gift from HOA--but then got "Please wait for the next available operator" and hung up. - Gracie| 2 repliesWe received three post cards in the mail. The "Final Notice" was red, the first two were yellow. All three had the same computer generated message: We have been trying to contact you regarding your welcome gift. Since we were unable to reach you we will only be able to hold it a few more days! Please call Miss Harper at 615-510-3183". There was no company information listed on the card. We, too, recently purchased a home, so I assumed that it was a scam or ploy to sell us something. We did not contact "Miss Harper".
- BigA replies to GracieThis is probably the "water filtration" scam. They claim they have a worthless trinket that they want to deliver to you. They send a high pressure sales person over to "test" your water. Of course there are tons of horrible things in the water, and the only way to solve it is to buy their worthless, over priced filtration system. They send the cards because if you call them it is not a DNC violation. Take the card to the post office and have them forward it to the Postal Inspectors.
- ElectricScottThe number/area code apparently changes with the region you're in.. mine is 216 (Cleveland, Oh) but it's a mailing from Miss Burke; same as most above. If any of you would care to mail back your reply, I have his (the owner) home address and home phone. Reply on this forum.
- CaMillia| 1 replyI called the number. They buy the new homebuyers list as does ADT, ATT, cable companies and any other company wanting your business. They said the welcome gift is a $20 visa gift card and they want to test your water. I said cool come on whenever. The gentleman came out and told me what I already know about Murfreesboro water quality because I tested it myself before they even sent the card. Luckily we brought water with us when we moved to this state so we were not forced to drink this water. Bathing in it was bad enough! He went through his speal and we purchased the system got 3 years worth of soap, cleaning solutions and shampoo. (which I could not wait to get my hands on their soaps, as Kalahari Resorts uses them). My family has a lot of allergies and health problems and water quality is super important, so the decision to get a water softener was a no brained. Also I was raised on well water and my grandparents had this system. We'll either take it with us if we move out of state again or leave it for the next homebuyer. It sounds like a scam but it's not especially if you are from Michigan and know the effects of bad water and the Flint water crisis. Then moved to Oregon and know the schools all tested positive for lead and your water smells like bleach or chlorine (not a good sign)! Tennessee has some of the worse water around do your research and test your water like you test a pool and then tell me you want to drink/ bathe in the city water. Go your the water treatment facilities... And no I don't work for them and if it was not them I would have called Culligan.
