I just got the same call..."local call". The call is a Michigan call, but in Lower Michigan. I am in upper Michigan. When I answered I got a loud background but no one said anything then hung up. This happens to be the first time this number came up. I am not one to answer my home phone, and it was a business number at one point.

I got the same thing, just background noise...static.  So I hung up.  I figured if it was important they'll call back.  Sounds like a scam call.

Yes, the called ID was Grand Rapids.

They just called last night. Loud background. I said "hello?" 3 times then a man coughed and said "Heather?". Then he said he was with the Michigan Police Department and was doing a fundraiser and calling for a monetary donation. I promptly hung up on him. Total BS call!!

they called me and i didnt answer but the answering machine did it and the noise sounded like a dying raccon

Got a call from this no. twice.  Ask for husband who wasn't home first time & said would call back.  This time identified self as Bill Miller from Mi Police Officers Assoc. & then call was broken off.

i just got the call too I am in Det. Metro area ... came here as I saw they were leaving a message ... didn't answer.
Anyway the message was just traffic noise.
i called back and there was an automated thing saying it was for ploicemans fund -- blah blah blah and that they would be calling back at a later time -- gosh i can only hope not!

never answer these phone scams
NEVER say yes into an unknown call they can record your voice for proving you said yes to buy something, and finally report it to the do not call registry.

By the way I CERTAINLY would not click on the link in the top of this page that says how to block a phone number -- lol it looks like a scam too!  Asks for your cell phone number right off -- ahhh can we all say "no thank-you"

Go to your local phone provider and find out ... mine is done this way .... dial *60  (wait for instructions)    #01# to rejects the last call

some might not report this (616-818-7935) number but i am -- some say this is a non-profit but I think it is not ....

Michigan, though, is a 2-party state when it comes to phone recording. Unless stated you are being recorded, the recording would be inadmissable in court. Both parties need to know before the conversation starts.

this number called and said they were the police asking if my mother was my sister's mother. they then asked if she was sleeping. she said "Yes, but..." cause she was curious about what was going on.
they said they would call  to talk with her tomorrow and hung up. it was very weird. we tried to call it back a few times, but it kept on hanging up on us. what the hell?
