- Trishwhen i called this number back it says it is the police officers association.. so it is an automated call it seems.
- Caller: police officers association
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- po edrude jackazz called and hung up.
- po edA rude jackazz called asking for specific person and when would be a good time to call back. I said I would take a message and the prick hung up.
- Steve Johgart| 1 replyI don't think it's actually a scam...I believe the Police Officers' organization is a legitimate nonprofit...but this one and AmVets are particularly annoying in their fundraising (I presume performed by a contract fundraising firm). I'm glad I didn't answer the phone!
- not Michael replies to Steve JohgartAll of the companies that are paid to raise money for charity are rip-offs. Typically the charity only gets 30% of your donation. The companies that call for donations for the police department are much worse. The police may get as little as 5% of your donation.
Don't donate to the callers. If you want to donate to a police charity call the non-emergency number for your local police deparment and ask them where to send a check. - FrustratedThis caller keeps calling, and hanging up when I pick up, then if I don't they wait until the machine picks up and never leaves a message except dead air... Stop Harrassing me!!!
- Caller: Unknown
- BunnyGot this as a missed call on my cell phone. No message. FYI No Michigan police/Sheriffs Dept use the phone for solicitation of donations. Report this to the DNC, the Michigan Attorney General's office the FOP& your local PD or SO. Or all of the above. The legitimate law enforcement agencies hate these guys...and rightly so!
- tiffaney amadordo not call me
- RkCalled and asked if they could talk to my dad and got his name right I said he was unavailable and then they hung up
- Caller: Unknown
- Ed replies to musicdude1815This is not true at all. In Michigan the wiretapping statute clearly reads that only 1 (one) party needs to know and that everyone is entitled to a copy or recording of their conversation.
- FOADI am so damn sick of these callers. They really need to get a life.Because it said Grand Rapids, MI, I answered; I have relatives in that area. There are no bill collectors looking for me either. From now on if a name isn't displayed, no answer!!!!!!
- SamanthaI just got a call from this 616-818-7935. I don't know how tho, I don't think my number is listed.... I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. I'm glad I found this site when I looked up that number...
- DebbiHave gotten a call from this number. I also get a lot of nasty calls from someone wanting to help with my credit card debt. That number is 661 388-1670. I ended up threatening right back and they quit. Now they my cell number. Speaking of scams, ATT charges $10 a month to block these calls.
P0! - McBRecording started in, "due to excessive call volume . . . " then hung up. Caller ID showed up as LOCAL CALL. I have family in 616 area code, so picked up, but won't again. Not sure what "they" wanted.
- BeccaThey call one or two times daily ... (caller ID shows local call) sometimes it's from a related number (616-818-7936). There is distorted noise in the background and then they hang up. No message is ever left on my machine.
- Sandra LouI called the # and they answered on my girst try. It regards diabetics and there s an option to "stop the calls"
. I waited to long to respond and somene answered and said they would take my bame off the list. I am diabetic, but how they got my name on their list is a mystery as I get all my supplies from either Walgreens or Airway Oxygen in Holland MI.- Caller: Diabetic "something'
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Katie| 1 replyThis number seems to now belong to Verizon. I'm a month behind, so I'd imagine it's in regards to that.
- Caller: Verizon Wireless
- Call type: Debt collector
- New phoneFrom day 1, before distributing my number, I've been getting calls from these guys.
Usually they hang up. Sometimes they leave a pre-recorded message claiming to be Verizon Wireless calling for some guy named Conrad about changes to the account, leaving instructions to call back (HAH!).
My carrier isn't Verizon. If these guys were actually from Verizon they would know this isn't one of their phones and wouldn't bug me.
So far they've only called during normal-ish hours.- Caller: "Verizon"
- New phone replies to KatieSee my comment below. DO NOT CALL THEM BACK. Look up the real Verizon number on your bill and use that instead: these guys are NOT Verizon and if you give them your credit card number they won't just take the 20 bucks or whatever you think you're paying them.
- ReceptionistMan asked for ex-employee, said he was from the ‘law office’ of something or other and told me that he needed to talk to him about case number blah blah blah he tried to get me to give him the guys phone number even after I told him I didn’t have access to it even if I wanted to. He told me that the guy was wanted and I could be held liable if I didn’t give him what he wanted which is when I hung up. SCAM
