- TammyBi blame comcast too. i just got my new phone number from comcast and keep getting lots of calls from a over the u.s too. Also from this # and someone from some police thing i just hang up. this is ridiculous.. grrrrrr
- Caller: Local Paper
- texr56no mesage--unknown caller
- theysuckThis is a debt collection co. they seem to sub out there harassing calls to all kinds of rude people like a subcontractor but they don't get paid unless you pay them ( don't give them any info or pay these people). if you have a debt call the real location of the co. and work it out.. im on the GOV do not call list and they still call, they just switch numbers. They all use VOIP like skype and vonage so no trace back can be done and like prank call software that you can find online they can make the caller id say literally anything which makes the GOV do not call list a no go.
ps. these people can be nasty..told me i shouldn't have had kids, family isn't important and just kept going as long as i let them..they wont even tell you where/how to get a hold of them (well after what they said to me it may just be a good thing)..yeah im gonna pay you know to..come on! lol!
they are annoying and really the only peace i have had from them is to just change my number ($15 to just change it but if you report harassment they will almost always change a number for free because so many phone numbers are recycled so you get a number 10 other people had all ready at least where im from. so good luck and they suck!- Call type: Debt collector
- WickedAnnoyedInBostonThe Caller ID said CPPA (whatever that is). He woke me up from a nap...he said, "I'm calling from the Boston Herald." And I said, "You know you just woke me up from a nap. If you could..." CLICK - he hung up on me!(#&$&@@ - I'm a disabled person so these telemarketer calls are really annoying for me.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- annoyedThe caller got my name from the phone book. I know this because my name in the phone book is not my real name, and the caller asked for me using my fake (phone book) name. The phone book is the only place that has this name connected with my telephone number.
Some pathetic telemarketer or scammer is obviously going through the phone book calling every name. He identified himself as working for the Boston Herald, but this is probably a lie. - rainbowI recieved this call yesterday a couple of times and then I answered it to see who it was, but I did not get a chance to speak. They just asked "if you can read English." I answered yes and they said "Ok bye." But before they actually hang up I heard them saying "Janice, You can write her up!"
- bitsnbytesGot one from "CPPA" about 7 p.m. on the day after Thanksgiving. I was out; they left no message on my phone.
- Frustrated! They just called me, and I (ofcourse) let the machine pick up. All they said was "Hello... Hello?" and then hung up. Did not identify themselves... and the caller ID came accross with CPPA 617-405-5555.
No idea who these people are, but we are on the govt. do not call list as well.. for all the good it seems to do.- Caller: ?
- harassed here tooMy poor grandmother, who is hard of hearing, is getting spam called by this number at least 2-3 times a week, sometimes more than once a day. She doesn't have any problems like this with other numbers, and she has not recently switched to a new phone company. She *is* listed in the phonebook.
The caller does not always respond when the call is answered, and often when they do they claim to be from the "CPPA". I googled CPPA and the closest thing I got to it was the Center for Public Policy and Administration from UMASS Amherst, but I'm pretty certain that after all these calls claiming to be someone new every time, it's probably not UMass related.
It's also the Cleveland Police Patrolman's Association...so if they're impersonating an officer, they'll be in deep sh*t.
I filed a complaint with the FTC. Hopefully something will be done.- Caller: "CPPA" 617-405-5555
