- FedupMy new cell phone (which nobody has been given the # for) seems to be attracting a lot of these type calls. Twice from this number today.
- Caller: Scam
- Steve DTotal fraud attempt. Call is automated and comes from the Boston area. This is the second I've received. The auto call states that your credit card (the card name changes with the call) has been locked, intimating that there has been an unauthorized use on it, and instructing you press one to get the account unlocked. Do not ever press one as the system calling you may and/or will attempt to "grab" information from you. Also, report the call to your local police/sheriff's office so there's a record of what happened in case later down the road you find that there has been some sort of actual fraud/identity theft.
- RonVery interesting! I got a call from this number to see if it was a scam, and saw so many records here that I did not pick up the call. Much to my surprise, they left a voice mail, and it turned out to be a recruiter I had contacted earlier in the day. The scammers may very well be SPOOFING a legitimate phone number here.
- Caller: Systemart
- Dave QSomeone from this number - which is now unlisted (????) said they were FBI, "wanted to investigate fraudulent activity through a website", so we called them back today and the number obviously does not connect. I did call the local FBI to report it - she said it surely was a scam, and that I should report it to the FTC.
- Caller: FBI

I interrupted him with this question "how much do you want us to send you?" - he immediately hung up on the call... BEWARE!!
- Caller: 617 714-0977

- TheblobIndian guy called me tonight from this number claiming to be an Engineer from Dell. He began telling me that their server noticed that my Dell desktop had been corrupted with viruses. I began asking him more detailed questions, because for one thing he called me on a work number that I don't give out, and two I am a software engineer and new that what he was telling me was a lie. When I told him my profession he immediately hung up. I gave him no additional information

- Kristie Ladd| 1 replyThis company called with address and car information for an extended warranty. They pressured me into purchasing an extended warranty, with a 30 day review. I called to cancel within 30 min., but the number put me on hold for 6 min and then dropped the call.
- Caller: Nationwide vehicle assurance
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Tamianth replies to Kristie LaddSMH.. should have just hung up the phone. You need to contact your bank or CC and place a stop payment then. These extended warranty things are just a waste and rip off.
Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:
