No one reliable, that's for sure!  Just got a call from the "credit card (they stated a brand of card) verification department", so it claimed.  I know for a fact that 1) I should not be getting a call from California for a Canadian Card, and 2) my bank ALWAYS calls from a recognized, caller ID number that I can actually call back.

caller said he was from Visa Mastercard head office and I was paying too high interest on my present card. He was going to reduce it to 3%. I decided to see what he was after so stayed on the line. He asked if I was from Quebec, I said yes, he asked if my credit card was still valid, I said yes. Then he asked for my card's expiry date, I said no, he said he wasn't asking for any personal information. ???     I said no  -- he hung up

WARNING--BEWARE!! These callers are   B I G   credit card criminals, known as the card service scammers! Under NO circumstances, give these lowlifes your credit card number, or you will regret it forever!

I also received a call. The caller said he was going to give me a reduction in my interest rate to 3% as well. He only had to verify my information. He asked for my credit card number which I refused to give him. I told him to give me the 5th number on my card since he said he had my file open. He couldn't so I hung up and notified my card issuer security .

Jan 19-2015 they call from this number pretending to be from the credit card service of visa and master card to lower my interest.
They also wanted personal information so I asked them if I could call them back on a more convenient time .

I just got a call from this number saying they were calling from "my credit card company" and wanted to reduce my interest rate due to good payment history.  I had heard of similar phishing calls so I asked him to repeat where he was calling from.  When he did, I asked which credit card to which he replied he was calling from Visa.  I asked him which bank and he said RBC.  For starters, I don't have a RBC credit card and most important, his manner in which he introduced himself was fake so very gently let him know that in case he is not aware, all my phone calls are recorded and this phishing call is too.  He quickly hung up.  I wonder who has hired all these reps...

Beware guys, just out to scam us!!!

got the call today very persistant on wanting my cc 12 digits I told him well if you have it why don't you tell me what it is I am not giving it to you

Also received call stating CBC will reduce interest I refused to give info. I called CBC they stated they do not call but send letters --for Canadians you should call Equifax for your report and also put a fraud alert  this will ensure that no accounts will be opened in your name with a security code phone # is 1-800-465-7166

Said he was calling about my VISA card.  How are you today.  I said I don't even have a f^%*^&ng VISA card.  He said F*&*(k you and hung up

I just got a call from this number  619-352-00117.    This guy asking for a Mr. <Female name>...  I ask politely who he was and who he work for.   He said he is Michael and from VISA.   I told him nicely there is no Mr. as that is a female name.   He then list my phone number and address and mock me by saying no one lives at this place then who are you.  I told him not that person you mention and he responded by telling me to FU$K off and slam the phone.

I have just contact VISA and told them about this.   If it is from VISA they need to be aware of these staffs working for them.  If it is not VISA, they need to clear this up pretty quick because there are companies out there trying to use their name for scams...

It is funny that these individuals can hide behind their numbers and be rude but one of these days someone is going to trace them.... and someone is going fu$k them over...

I just received a call from this number saying that they could reduce my interest to 1.9%.  Thought it was a scam, but he new my name and address.  Very scary.  soon as he asked for me to verify my number, I hung up.

I got a call from California this am telephone number (619) 352-0117 asking for a strange name. When I indicted it was the wrong number, he quickly said no no you mrs aldo I mean.. I got suspicious right away! He wanted information I would never give over the phone so I told him I was turning his number over to the RCMP for further investigation.. Do not give any information out over a phone folks, these scam artists are working hard to steel...crooks!
