I receive calls from this number several times a day.  When I tell them not to call me anymore they get angry - accent sounds like they are from India a lot of the time.  If I don't answer my phone says they have left a message but there is nothing.  Tired of it!

Answered and it sounded like a call center in the background.
I answered with "Fraud Investigations, XX Division,  Be advised that this call may be recorded and traced."
They hung up.

I get calls from this number every day the past week!
No message.
Just called it back and the recording says "if you'd like to be placed on a do not call list for this number, press 1"
I hung up and blocked the phone number from calling me anymore.

Just received a call from these people. Claimed to be with a company called US Selling Center. I asked for his name, Mark, and hung up. I always call the numbers back, most are disconnected numbers. This one answered with "hello, if you want to be put on the do not call from this number press number 1."  They claimed to be offering updated insurance quotes. He was very anxious to verify my address. I did not provide any info. I did report them to the do not call registery.

Keep getting calls from this card scammer asking for card details 'to help prevent fraud'... blocked it on my cell.

Called on 6/26/15.  Caller ID showed "spring center."    Left a recording from "card services," promising to reduce my interest rate to "0%" and that, as a valued customer, I was already pre-approved.   Blocking the whole area code.

These chumps keep calling my cell phone but I have them blocked. Still though they should be taken off at the knee caps for pestering people. If they want to advertise they should use snail mail not telephones. I just don't understand where the law states they have the right to annoy people.

This is great LOL.  Hope it helped get you off their list  :-)   Thanks for the laugh.  I don't get as many fake calls now that I block all calls I look up here.  It's so much easier on my husbands nerves.  I have 10 numbers blocked but they still try, now the phone rings once then hangs up on them.

Asked to be taken off list and they hung up on me.  They call about 7 times a day.  I am getting really pissed

Because, I took it to be legitimate, but just the other day I was on a website (via usps) to end junk mail that asked for my phone number. Otherwise I had not typed it in recently. Coincidence?

Yesterday, ironically, I also made sure that I was on the "do not call" list by calling a phone number.

First call from this number. Based on everyone's feedback this scammer does various stuff. Will block.

Dear Fellow Posters:
     WHY, Why, Why do some of you bother to answer a number that you don't know (because a lot of you will or have)?  Why, when you do answer, get mad because it is a scam call?  Why do you call back?  You get pissed off at receiving these calls, but, you answer or call back to give them a clue that you do have a working number that they can have fun spoofing with you!
    Then you get mad at the FCC, the DNC, the phone companies, the government and President Obama for these calls and accuse them of being 'ineffective' or 'a joke' for not doing anything about them.
    Understand that the DNC is working or you would be getting calls from any and every LEGITIMATE bank, credit card, charity, medical, loan, department store, and fundraiser you could think of--but, you don't because they are following the guidelines of the DNC.
    Just imagine, if most of the spam/unknown calls we all receive would be ignored (resisting the temptation to answer to 'get revenge', so to speak)--it could work wonders, don't you think?  Of course, that means that sites like this wouldn't be needed.
    Is that such a bad thing?
    So, come on, people!  Stop answering unfamiliar numbers, don't call back (it's usually a waste of time, most of the time, is it not?), and get on with the parts of your life that you can do something about.
    Don't allow spam/crank calls/and the like steal precious time from you--otherwise you are giving them permission to do so.
    DO. NOT. ANSWER.

P.S. I know that this will be ignored by most because there will be more posts complaining about these calls.

I agree, I have spoken with donotcall when I was called about a complaint I had filed on a legitimate telemarketer (others had complained as well) who violated the guidelines and she said basically the same as you stated.

She told me to ignore unrecognized calls, do not press 1 or any other number since it does indicate a live number and will be called again or given to other scammers and don't get into any conversation if a call is inadvertently answered. Being confrontational does not work, it only angers the callers and they continue to call, often changing their already spoofed numbers or worse yet, using your own number to harass others.

I unplugged my answering machine and now use a call blocker and while I still get unwanted calls, I block them and most of the time, they do not call back. Of course there are three charities who continue to try despite being blocked.

It is a matter of common sense. Hopefully, there will be those who follow your advice.

This is the first time I've gotten a call from this number.  Caller ID says "Savings Center".  I did not answer and they did not leave a message.  I filed a complaint with the DNC registry.

This people keep up calling, disregarding the answer. They were told "please do not call again. Erase my phone number from your listing".

800notes is not affiliated with your callers, we are not calling you either. 800notes is a forum for reporting who calls you and any information you may have about the call to share with other forum users. It is highly doubtful that your callers are reading here also. We can't stop anyone from calling you either or remove from a list.

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

Have Call blocker so only get one call which I don't answer unless they leave message which they never do.
I do have a question, has the FCC gone out of business? I thoght if you reported a number they would take action.
From reading the posts don't seem to find  a thank you to the FCC for going after these pond scum people.
