I responded to a truck listed on Craig's List in Wisconsin.  Emma Hudson claimed her father owned this vehicle and recently died and she is selling it due to deployment.  She had a invoice sent from Ebay requesting payment via gift cards.  I called the number listed on the invoice and it was a heavy accented person that promptly hung up when I asked for the supervisor.  It is clearly a scam - so others beware.

They are trying to do this to me right now, but guess what i have been reading up on scams, oh by the way same story just a different name given a ( amanda winters)

Its a scam they are saying the same as they told rebecca only using a different name (amanda winters)

I was scammed through this same person going by the name Patricia Delp.... story about her husband died and is selling the tractor.... made me purchase eBay cards to pay..:: please be aware

They tried this on me today too. It was a Bobcat Skidsteer for me. The person "selling" was Caroline Sampson. Wanted eBay gift cards in $200 values. I called this # and heavy accent person supposedly verified "this is a real invoice". NOT!! Didn't get me - I reported the scam to ebay. Hope they burn down under!

I just almost got scammed by this women (Patricia Delp) from the following email address: patriciadelpp@gmail.com and received an invoice from supposedly eBay with the email address: ebay@sales-department.online in regards to a 2003 John Deere 2210 Tractor for $1200.  Thank You for posting on here and helping me not make a mistake!!!!

Same story about husband died 30 days ago.  2007  VW convertible for $1000 in $200 eBay cards. Using the name Samantha Shelton.  Email address  ( iyohanus@gmail.com ). My wife found this "scam" on facebook.

Only scammers will ask you to buy gift cards to pay for a vehicle.  And eBay has nothing to do with craigslist sales.

Thanks for posting this we had a similar experience, with a travel trailer.  The lady at CVS alerted us that it was probably a scam.  Thanks to her we didn’t send them $1,000.

"Wendy" with eBay support tried getting us too. Calls from a California number. She got the skid loader in a divorce, selling it dirt cheap, pay for shipping from KS, etc. Needless to say, not buying it...

Yup it’s a scam, Cheap trailer. Sob story about a family member and they only take payment via gift cards. So obviously a scam.

My experience was with Jessica Tabor, her husband died two months ago, selling Kubota L2501 with bucket, trailer, brush-cutter, and box blade.  I found this post on more than 260 craigslists across the country.  Wanted $1500 deposit in ebay gift cards.  Many dependencies in her story.

Scam... tried buying a boat, there were already red flags but I wanted to see it through. When the invoice came from “eBay” saying payment needed to be in eBay cards that’s when I knew it was all a scam... no money lost for me, now back to finding that boat!

you must be talking about the Tahoe from Tracy Brock! I reported it but I'm super bummed. Always wanted a yellow Tahoe with a fish finder and everything. I hadn't got to the pt of receiving the invoice yet but she gave the this number and I ran it through the scammer search. Sure enough the number is hot.

Scam about a horse trailer for $1600. Wanted 8 ebay gift cards of $200. I contacted Ebay directly never heard of "Janet Cooper" never will Ebay ask for gift cards for payment as they prefer Paypal.. When I told the heavily accented lady at this number that ebay did not have a record of this number or Janet Cooper she replied "[***] you" and hung up on me.

Its still on fb marketplace....They replief an said its still available....Visit his aint at ..Iyohanus@gmail.Com....Smh

Theres also a person going by the name of "harvey jones"...Also wants ebay cards....They say you can double your money....So plz watch out of this scam.
