Recieve a call from this attorneys office "richard sokoloff" they are a collections company! horrible and rude! Ms.Carter is a complete snot didnt want to hear a word i had to say,i tried explaining to her that i will summit to insurance company and she didnt want to hear a word, this was her first call to me! i then called back to speak to the manager, boss or someone above her and i was hung up on by Shanda! i called again and left a message for a don greening and sokoloff. No call back to date and its been 3 days! horrible collection agency!!!!

i to have a problem with miss carter! she hung up on me right after i asked for proof of the bill, and explained to her i just lost job, told me she didnt care not her problem and hung up on me!

Why do you waste your time in listening to her? Do like me!!. Don't attend and live happily.

I'm going to file a complaint against Ms. Carter and Sokoloff's office for unethical practices. I have recorded our phone conversation to demonstrate the way they conduct their business. In that conversation she clearly endangered my life and disregarded my safety. After the complaint I will further pursue a law suit against her. If anyone would like to join, I ask you to please e-mail me. With more complaints and witnesses who suffered by her unethical and immoral actions, we have much higher chances for justice to be served. When you e-mail me, I can send you the complaint that I've filed and discuss the next necessary step. I will pursue it regardless of how many people will reply, but as I said; we can be more persuasive, if we can establish a pattern of unethical misconduct. Not willing to listen to anything.  Insurance company told me Dr. did not process claim and that why it was not paid.  Told Ms. Carter and she did not care...just wanted $ not due them.  They are [***]

This guy and company is a scam. Called me... I called back...left on hold... realized this is a scam because I do not owe anyone money. I have no debt except a mortgage. Beware of this name.

Had similar experience.  Unable to contact Mr. Sokoloff.  grrrrr...they garnished from my account!  Furious.  Also, have insurance, however, insurance co. needed additional information, etc.  They don't want to hear about it...only interested in getting money.  Lost two family members within one week.  Trying to get things in order.  They don't care!  Horrible!

I have had ongoing issues with this since 2009.  Now I have to appear in court  because the landscaper who is listed as doctor on plaintiff agreement is trying to sue me.

This attorney and his "staff" should be closed down and put out of business. Sokoloff and his nasty staff especially Mrs.Carter are just bullies with a law degree to use to their advantage. They don't listen to anything you say.  They cut you off, they yell at you and they harass you. I was told I was speaking to Sokoloff when I requested to speak with him...still not sure it really was him and not just someone in the office. He recorded our conversation. I asked him if he was recording it and he never gave me an answer. I knew he was recording me because it kept beeping and blocking out what I was saying. Then he kept changing everything I told him. The letter they send says to call if you have a dispute. That is the biggest joke because they don't hear a word you say. Mrs. Carter keeps harassing my 21 year old daughter who is away at college. The first time she got my daughter on the phone she asked her a bunch of questions like who pays for your smart phone and your tuition and your car. My daughter had no idea who she was or what it was all about. This whole thing is about a billing dispute we are having with our dentist. Since my daughter is over 18 they can call her. I was livid when my daughter called and told me about this. I called this Mrs. Carter and told her she had no right to harass my child. Her answer was she isn't as child she is an adult. My response was she is my child. This matter gets more and more involved simply because the dentist refuses to deal with us. We went to him for 18 years without any problems till his wife took over as bookkeeper. It is very complicated and very sad. You try to resolve an issue you feel is wrong and they treat you like garbage. I can't get the dentist or his "attorney" to listen. I don't know who to turn today this point. We are very angry and very upset.

I have same dumb collection attorney pestering me.  for a orthopedic visit 2 years ago which insurance should have paid.  Now I get collection letters, and they send collection letters to my wife, she wasn't even the patient.  There are alot of complaints and this attorney has been brought to Supreme Court of the State of New York  and lost.

received a call from Kerry Kay several in fact to collect a hospital debt about 900.00.  sokoloff is the worse kind of scumbag and. has been cited for professional misconduct.   I decided to pay the debt outright rather. than work out a payment plan with this scumbag.

This firm is programmed to treat people disrespectfully.    Because they don't take any time to get the facts in order before making "rude" calls, the secretaries sound like they just came from a Jerry Springer show.    People treat you how they want to be treated.   No one should ever waste their time with this type of behavior.

Md. Carter is a terrible woman, with no respect for other human beings, she is trained to be terrible to you and scare you into paying because she works off of commission. If you receive a call from her do not let her bully you into doing anything! All debt collectors are trained in this type of persuasive psychology, know your rights before you do anything!

I actually didn't have a bad experience with this firm. I owe money and it's my fault. When miss carter called me she was very understanding and did all that she could to help me out. I told her I was in college full time and couldn't pay in full so she set up for a month to month payment plan and I asked her to call me before she actually charged my card so I was sure the money was in my account. She's just doing her job. I would never want to be a collector and deal with this crap everyday.

Mmmmmm --  replying to a thread left over from 6 ,months ago ---AND you just happened to find this site with your "happy story" when the website lists complaints & frauds.  Interesting!!

I have been being harrassed by this company f I r a very long time. They froze my bank account a year ago and i had no income it was all my husbands. We had to prove to them that it was only his. They unfroze it and now a  year later they froze it again for a bill that should have been paid for if it was submitted  to the right insurance company. They are very very nasty people. I'm a disabled mother of three just making it thru and they dont care. My husband tried calling to discuss them freezing his bank account and richard was very rude to him and hung up on him. My husband called back and richard threatened to call cops on my husband if he called back. They try bulling and abusing us in order to try and get money. They wouldnt even set up monthly payments.

ms carter is a miserable [***]! she does not have any of the facts about the debt she is calling me about, she needs to quit her job
