Definitely not right

Most likely the manufacturer hired a company in Missouri to send those text message out.  I don't see how you can be scammed with a simple informative text message.  You can easily call your local dealer up, give them the VIN number and find out if you have defective airbags.  See how easy that was?

Same thing. It is a scam for sure. They listed my dealership in Florida and that is not the correct number. Scam all the way

They already had my address in the initial text sent.  My dealer has operated via text for insurance and registration stuff so I initially thought it was them!  I am a bit freaked out and that they knew my address, dealership, etc.  And no spelling errors or typos.

Had the same text saying they were Aaron Ford. They wanted to schedule me for a recall. I said I can just bring on my car. Since I just live walking distance to my Ford dealership. He said no. This is a mobile service only. They had my name and address correct. But what got me to question this. Is he scheduled me for a Saturday. And wanted to know the best time. He gave me the hours between  1 AM and 3 PM.. Um who works at 1 am in the morning.  BLOCKED!!

Message was Brandon from Fox Chicago Ford. Per a safety recall, your 2012 Ford Focus is at risk of having the doors open while driving due to a broken spring, increasing the risk of injury.
Our team can do this at home for you if within range. We have limited availability over the next few weeks, when are you available for a free mobile appointment? You can text me back.

I no longer have that car, so wouldn’t have answered anyway, but seems like this is a scam as this is not a local number.

This number texted me two days in a row at the exact same time. The first text had a-lot of information regarding the recall issued for my car and the second one was a "reminder" and again asking when can I schedule. I know there is a recall on my car however it doesn't affect me since I have an aftermarket starter.

Similar to everyone else's experience here.

I received the following text: "Hi Greg, this is Shannon from Landmark Ford Trucks. Your 2016 Ford F-150 can leak brake fluid, making it harder to brake and increasing the risk of a crash. It is really important to get this recall fixed and our team can do this for you at no charge. We have limited availability over the next few weeks, when are you available for an appointment?"

The problems are that my name is not Greg, I don't now nor have I ever owned a Ford F-150 and , while Landmark Ford is a legitimate dealership in my area, this number is not theirs. This is a definite scam.

Received a text from "Tyler" at the local ford dealership I've taken my vehicle to in the past. They got the dealership name correct. Asked when they could send out a mobile tech to fix a recall issue. Thinking that was convenient, I gave a date. No response for a day, then I got a second text asking me to confirm my address. I did not respond after searching the phone number and seeing multiple "Tyler" texts from other dealerships.

Same message using the name Chris and a totally different ford location

Person said their name was Gabriella and the dealership and car info was correct. I looked up my car's VIN number and there are no open recalls on it.

This is NOT a scam. This is from a 3rd party recall dept. authorized to do the repairs. I called my local Ford dealership and they informed me of the 3rd party, but the dealership was able to make the appt. for the mobile "Recall" unit to come out to repair the parts that are on recall.  If you have any questions/concerns call your dealership and ask.

Text wanting to find my availability to come in for servicing the car. But had my name as Demitri. I've gotten two from this number.

Claims to be from service team at George Harte Nissan. Has wrong vehicle type listed in message and have received no notice of recall issues for my actual vehicle, which I am signed up for a reputable service to provide this information.  This is definitely a scam.

Got a text from this number (636-498-9325) saying if interested in scheduling an appointment please call 440-697-3025. SCAM all the way
