Received a call from Peter Alison claiming to work for Ridgetop Research. This person said they obtained my information from Career Builder and claimed that I might be a good match for one of his clients. According to the caller, I would be working in a temporary capacity as a consultant. This call seemed like a possible scam to me so I did a reverse look-up in google and found that the number belonged to A C A Remanufactured Transmissions, 743 E 6 St, Manhattan, NY 10009.

Hi...My name is Peter Allison and I am an employee at Ridgetop Research. We are a boutique independent research firm that works with a small handful of clients.  We are based in NYC and sublease office space from Casimir Capital at 546 5th Ave.

In regards to the phone number, we recently switched to new numbers and our phone company has not yet change the account names associated with those numbers.

It is not a scam.  I do consulting for some clients for Ridgetop.  They have always paid me on my invoices and have even honored my invoices on consultation appointments when the client has neglected to appear.

If it's not a scam, tell us all about what it is, what you did and what they paid you.  I fail to see how someone who is not upfront when contacting people is going to be on the up and up but am willing to believe it's not a hunk of bunk if I see real proof.

Scroll down, Peter Allison is an analyst for Ridgetop Research.  I have met him multiple times and have 3 friends who work for the firm.  Do some basic research before reporting a scam next time.

I have done two consulting calls for them over the last month and I have been paid for both calls.  I am in the fast casual food industry and what I did was answer and guide the individual on certain aspects of the industry. I am not an employee of this company. To me so far this is legit. I never sent them my resume ( Although I do not see any harm in doing so as it could lead to something interesting).  You can Google my name and you will see that I am not an employee working for them. I am hoping to here from them again.
