That's nothing! These guys scammed me for 260 and said it was for a federal loan and that l would get back 9255 dollars. Never got the loan and lost my 260. Which was my deposit for my house. Talk about getting screwed! When l asked them about cancelling and just getting my 260 back they became beligerant and said that it wasn't their problem and put me on the blacklist. I got numbers to both the places and l am turning them in.

And at first they called from a Ohio number, then called from a New York number saying something happened to the other number. And it was the same lady "Michelle young" thank you, I'd be out of 290 dollars by now if it wasn't for you

Thank you for this info! I received text message from this number with my name on it, asking if it was me. I thought it was suspicious and I googled it. I am so glad I did. I blocked that number form my phone. I appreciate the info about this!

Actually i got a call from 202-000-1111 which is a Washington dc phone number. They said i get a $9000 grant Because I have not filed bankruptcy and i do not have a criminal record. Then they gave me a code and told me to call the 646-583-1886 number. They said after i call they will set me up to go to a money graham in A Walmart to collect money. That the only thing I would have to provide is my id (drivers lic number ) NO WAY IN HELL WOULD I CALL THAT NUMBER BACK.  When i told him "what kind of scam is this?" He got mad and said "how dare you say this is a scam" so watch out and don't ever return these calls. You may get charged just for calling them on your phone bill

I got scammed too. Now I'm getting harassing sexual threats from the 'loan officer'

Yes this is a scam, I called the number back because I have a son going to school in NY.
They answered "This is the IRS collection Agency" I just hung up.

No Agency, goverment or state will call you like this.
They will send you paperwork in the mail.

What I do for these calls is just block them but before that I blow a police whistle as hard as I can into the phone when I hear a voice.

Went from getting these types of annoying call every day or every other day 2-5 times in a 24 period down to once or twice a month.

I got scam for 250 and then ask for another 650 in order to get 9000 fed grant.

i received a call from several of these scammers telling me that  they were with the Federal Reserve Bank in NY. They said i was given a 9200 dollar grant but first i had to pay the tax, ins, and some other fees. since i had just enroll in an online course i thought it was real. they 1st instructed me to send 200+ for tax  western union i did. then they asked for 400+ and i western union that for the insurance and lastely the additional fees of 490 i sent western union. I was scammed out of over a thousand dollars,nearly my complete disability check. My mother in law called them and acted like a business professional trying to get my monies back . when she caught them in their scam and call them out on it, they begin to curse her out using all kind of profanity..Reserve Bank huhhhhh. Here 2 wks later they're calling faking to be an attorney named Kevin Williams, for representation saying i mispresented myself and theyre filing charges on me and they can represent me for 5000+ dollars. then he stated he was going to get my check cut off and file a suit against me using a scare tactic. my mother in law research the ny bar and found only one lawyer with that name. all of these people sound like foreigners and the  attyshe found wasnt foreign. mother in law 3way called and asked for his bar# and he didnt know what that was, then he started cursing.......PLEASE READ MY STORY I LOST OVER A 1000 DOLLARS..

Got a call today from this number. Left a message saying I needed to call them or have my attorney call them if I wanted to have a happy day or some crap like that. Scam.

They called me yesterday, and said I qualified for the $9000 grant, so I asked them to take me off their list.  The woman (with a thick accent) said, "go [***] yourself" and hung up.  Today, they called me from another number, and I went along with the call to see what they were up to.  They said they were from the US Department of Treasury - same line of BS about qualifying for the grant.  I was supposed to go to a Western Union place and pay $270, but of course, I would get that back with my $9000 grant.
I reported them.

Even worse they left a message on my phone saying they are fueling for arrest warrants.

I just got a call from them and I can't believe this is been going on since 2011

They called my cell phone this morning. It rang once and they hung-up before I could answer. Amazing that these scammers are still doing this after 6 years.
