Text messaged me in response to a kijiji ad.  

Tried to tell me they were out on a business trip to New York but were interested in my used MacBook Pro.  

The number is a Manhatten number!

Messages got a little heated as I confronted the person as a scammer.

Obviously a scammer.

Text me as well on an ad on kijiji...said they were in New York on a business trip as well and wanted my watch as a birthday gift for his/her son and would sort out postage. I think I will pass...thank you very much! :) Be careful out there people!

Just happened to me on kijiji on september 17th.  Texted me from the same number. Said he was on a business trip in new York and wanted me to send my phone to Nigeria lol. He said its for his wife and will sort out the postage cost. Be careful people.

texted from a Kijiji ad wanting to know if my camera is still for sale.  Have been on Kijiji long enough to smell a rat.  Google-ing the phone number confirms it.  Don't bother texting these people back.  Spent enough time on it writing this post.

I live in Prince George bc, selling my iPhone on kijiji this number replied saying he wanted this phone for his gf in Louisiana -told him I'm no shipping the phone.....scam

My daughter  selling her ps3 on kajiji then this guy replied and wanted my daughter to send it to Florida, so she sent it to Canada post after couple of days they text her that she needs to send money for crime free affidavit (for criminal terrorist treat) my daughter sent money 3 times. I didn't even know about this until I found out that she send her rent money and tax return money to this people.  Just be careful people

yeah, Today  I got text from someone about my kijiji  He want me send My watches to Philly  and he want to pay me bank transfer or email bank.    it is SCAM !!

He replied to my
iPhone kijiji add from a 646 area code and said he lives in Calgary and is in Winnipeg and wants the phone for his gf in Philadelphia . SCAM!

Got a text from this number regarding a kijiji add I had posted for an iPhone 5.  I googled his phone number after hearing the same story as everyone above here.  SCAMMER!!!

I got a text too. he reply for my ps3 in kijiji. he said he was visiting his grandma in bc.. i told him i tried calling his number and it was some global thing.. anyway right away after i got connected i couldnt even understand him.. his accent was so bad and so is english... so stay AWAY from this person. he wants to scam u.

guys texting me right now about my xbox one on kijiji. asking me how much it would sell bottom line and how much to ship to philadelphia. hes trying to get my email address and full name right now so he can send me the money. I aint buying this. clearly hes a scammer after reading all these posts. what a goof.

i just texted the guy back and told him to western union the money to me to cover my butt, we'll see what he says. I mean if he sends the money that way I know its for real and I dont mind mailing it to him. but i doubt he'll do it.

yeah he would absolutely not agree to it. was adamant about getting my bank info and full name. avoid this guy at all costs. no point in getting ripped off. always meet in person and sell stuff for cash. ( in a safe place ) ive heard to many stories of people getting hurt badly when meeting in person.

So this guy tried to scam me and almost did but I checked it out and because all these posts I made it out on top

Contacted via text replying to my Kijiji ad, thankfully looked up the number and found out this persons a scammer.

Scammer for sure. This is the second time I get one of these texts from a strange number. The first time they tried to tell me they wanted to give my engagement ring to his pastors son as a gift. Haha really?! Don't even bother texting back.

Just texted me for my iPhone on kijiji Calgary. He wants me to ship the phone to California for his girlfriend.
