- Beetlebroc replies to LanceDude! What is wrong with you. NEVER give anyone money or information over the phone. If you do banking over the internet, guess what, your accounts will be hacked. I suggest to get to your bank and change account information as soon as possible. Also, many high schools and junior colleges offer basic computer skill courses. I would do a search and get into a class. Meanwhile, call someone like the "Geek Squad" and have him do a hard drive format and reinstall your programs. I have no doubt that your system is being "shadowed" from Long Island, N.Y. Good Luck.
- CWG40 replies to nancy butlerNo one on this site is calling you. However, a call blocker might be of some help. Also don't pick up on numbers you do not recognize, or where there are caller IDs that seem odd. Or where there is no caller ID. There’s no way to stop the calls from being initiated.
- BreeHad a woman with a heavy accent tell me that my computer has been compromised, continued to give me my computer id number and told me to click something in my windows computer. Never did she state her name or company she worked for. When i told her i didn't have a windows computer, she transferred me to a Mac "expert". she placed me on hold and then unmuted the phone to the sound of a man with a heavy accent claiming to be the mac expert. Continued to tell me what to do and when i questioned him he stated he works for URTechMate and gave me a code to enter in my computer. I said i will call Apple myself or take to my own IT guy and he got angry with me saying that Apple will never call me for a problem and instead, outsources to third parties. I said i'm not entering a code in my computer from a random number and person i dont know and dont feel comfortable and hung up. Googled the number and found this post. Thank goodness i did.

- Nobby replies to LanceThe best website for you is bleeping computer.com. malwarebytes is way better than Kaspersky and you can use it for free. If you buy the paid version at 29 dollars it's a one time only charge and it has no yearly fee like other programs. you can use adwcleaner to clean adware off of your computer to.
