Got two calls from these scammers today, asking for me. They had my name and address. Interesting. He said he was calling about my MC which I don't own. Then when I told him that he had the wrong number, he said he was sending an agent to my house. I'll look forward to meeting this agent.

called, heavy accent, also butchered my name, told me I have been paying my current Mastercard on time, when I stopped her to say I don't have one, hung up.
Can these scammers ever be stopped? Sure they are not calling from canada but can somehow re-route the number to have a Canadian area code??? Horrible

received call and was asked if i wanted to lower interest rate to 6%. Said i wasnt interested and he hung up. I called the number back and asked to be taken off the calling list.  Same man answered and said he was from customer service and he hung up on me, Definite SCAM ARTIST

They have no name of who there calling for. thay say there offring a service lowering your credit card yet the caller has to ask which card shouldn't they know after all they are calling you. then when you call back they have caller id as well so prehaps they next time they call they'll have your name. BEWARE OF THE CCCA Scammas!!!!!!!!!!!

The left message that I don't understand.
Sounds like they were speaking Indian - and you can hear allot of people talking in the background - though I don't understand them - another language - sounds Indian.
Sounds like allot of other telemarkters in the background.

Call received originally from 250-980-3438. Heavy background noise, sounded like a very busy room with many voices talking. Caller's voice partly muffled, like he placed the phone piece against his mouth. A male caller first spoke of my master card account, how it was paid on time and at an interest rate of 18%. He tried to ask me if I wanted a lower interest rate and said a few other things, but it was quite muffled. I asked him to call back for a better connection. He did, that phone number he called from was: 647-288-1289. Again the same bad sound and background noise. He asked me if I was interested in a lower interest rate, but said other things that were muffled (again).

I asked him for a telephone number and I could call him back. He gave phone # 403-648-9328. I called that number and it was not in service.

His information about my credit card was partially true, that I paid my dues on time, but he was wrong about my interest rate I currently have, which I never told him. That triggered a warning that this was not the credit card company I was with. They would have the exact information of my account and most of all, better telephone connection.

Plus, this guy sounded quite unprofessional and all agents for the credit card company are trained, this guy was untrained.

Be careful, these scams make generalized statements in the hope it fits your credit card account. Never give information out when someone calls you, always ask for a return telephone number and a name to call them back. When a return number is given, check it out on line and find out from your real credit card company if they have people calling and making such calls.

Legitimate Credit card companies keep one set of phone numbers. When you get different area codes that span across the country from the same caller, then it is a scam.

I have an unlisted number and I am on the do not call list, yet these people keep calling -- They should be reported!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't have a credit card and if I did you think they should know!

I received the call from 647-288-1289 just minutes ago; the automated message stated "this is a call from your credit card company, there is nothing wrong with your account however you are eligible for a reduced interest at 6%. Press 9 to speak to a live agent - so I did, to see what I get.

CSR: "Hello, my name is James, thank you for calling"
ME: "James, you called me not the other way around, where did you get my number"
- Call is disconnected

I don't know about you, however I am on the DNC list, have an unlisted # and yet still get harrassed after long days travelling or in the office! Even better when you 411 them there is no listing!

Recieved a phone call saying I have been selected for a lower interest rate on my credit card.
Gave out some personal info like some #'s on mc and dob and then the person hung up...seeing that my card was maxed out. I also heard another person in the back ground on the phone as well trying to get more info from someone else

keep receiving calls from this #.    Don't answer,  I have no credit cards.  Don't know  how they got my unlisted # to begin with.   Will never answer this call.

this is a phone scam , they will ask you credit number and name , and they offering lower intertest rate , once you gave out all those information . you done , they will max out you credit , and you have to pay the bill , watch out , WATCH OUT !!!!!!!!!!!
