Know what I  think?   I think someone has sold them the do not call list...great list of valid phone numbers.  They called me again this morning at 9:57AM and they were blocked by my phone.  To the person said their phone would not let them block this number,  I have a Panasonic of some sort and it does a wonderful job of blocking numbers.

    Revenge
I have their number saved. Whenever I'm signing up for anything online or in store, this will be my number.
That's what you get for calling the wrong person over and over again and refusing to take me off your list.
You should all do the same, since they refuse to deal with the issue and lack proper telephone etiquette.

Tell them that you will be billing them $1000 for each time they call, and that you reserve the right to call them several times a day to collect the money. Make up a clearly-worded audio recording on your computer or equivalent device, and use it to leave messages on their answering machines.

Sounds like "Checkin" has not read or comprehended any of my comments. Why exactly would I sell out my own employer and advise everyone on how to dispute its claims and stop its phone calls?

Umm, yeah, if anyone has "sold them the DNC list" it was the FTC. Access to the registry is not free to telemarketers. Debt collectors are not in sales, and are thus exempt from scrubbing the list and may skip trace any phone they like, absent a notice from someone revoking call permission.

I just moved to New Brunswick and got my phone line a couple of weeks ago... no one has this number yet, not even my employer, so it's completely impossible that whatever they're calling about has anything to do with me, especially since I'm unlisted! Arrgh! The last thing I need when I get home from work and I"m tired is to have the phone ring and ring and not want to answer.  The address and contact info is appreciated, thank you for that! I will have to take some action here...I decided to wait to talk to someone to see who they were asking for, and THEIR system hung up on me before anyone came on the line.

So glad i found this site. I have had repeated messages from this number. So sneaky. The message begins halfway through ( which isn't unusual from automated messages) when you return the call it doen't state the company name and also appears to begin part way through the message.

She than asked for some other person i dont even know, once i let her know this she said she would take my number out of the calling list. Lets see if they call back looking for the wrong person again.

They have been calling me for the last couple of weeks on my cell phone and all I get is a message which is part of a cut off recording. I haven't answered it as I did not recogize the number. I finally called them back and they asked if I was Laura somebody.  I said, "you have the wrong number" and he said, "ok, sorry, I will remove your number from the list."  It is Global Credit.  I hope they do remove it.

I get the same thing...a partial message in French and English never follows.  They call on my business line and are taking up valuable answering machine message space.  We do not owe anyone and pay in cash like many of you.  It is most annoying when I have a client in my office and I get one of these spam calls.  It really hurts my credibility as a business person and is most annoying when it is not me that they are after.

647-724-1032 - we've flagged this as "Telemarketer" through our work phone. They call here every now and then with a message stating "an english message will follow" then listen to someone speaking french. I waited today to see who they are looking for, but when I do, it hangs up before connecting.

25 april 12.  Got yet another call from this number.  I called them back and they answered as Global Collection Agency.  I have had this number for 3 years and I am still getting calls looking for a certain deadbeat.  This is the third time I have asked them to loose the number.  I guess these clowns aren't very good at keeping their records current...

Ok people - guess i need to educate you.....
Reasons for repeat calls on wrong ph#s:
    1. Its called skip tracing, A batch of accounts are sent from collection agency to for example LEXIS NEXIS - (this company su**s) Info is so out dated! anyway the scan ss#, for poss new name, addy and yes ph# or possible relitives ph#. Import the info sent it back to agency - accnt the gets put in a SQL list, if the agency has a dialer,,,,,, and wheeeee you start rec. those wonderful msg's you all love. PLEASE DONT BLAME THE COLLECTOR when you call back!
    2. A machine put your ph# back in as "current/correct ph# -- A machine  called you and the poor guy that answers when you call back gets the heat! (he doesnt even know you where called until you call bck.)
    3. If or when you call back BE NICE!!! your ph # will have a better chance of being removed< If know cause if i answer and your an AZZ -- I hang up on ya, kick the mach for bein dumb, and leave your ph# in so it will call you again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
***************BLAME LEXIS NEXIS --- you ppl seem to have time   look it up

It is technically possible to do this. The person who answered the phone when you called should be wanting to change his number.  Thanks for the heads up - I just let every number I don't know go to VM :)  If its someone *I* wish to speak with, I can always call back.
