i called a few times and finally got thru and got on their DNC list

i got a call from them and they were super static-y

when i answer it rings and then hangs up. and all the other times it never leaves a msg.

Person calls at 8:50 PM, saying they're from Canada Trust, offering me an 'Alert Protection' for my credit card.   seriously, my first clue was that if this was a legitimate call, it wouldn't be a (647) area code.  So I say I'm not interested, she says thank you, but then I call back the number, at which time a machine picks up saying "All circuits are busy"  and then the line is disconnected.
Whatever you do, show some common sense, and don't EVER give our personal information, or banking information (credit cards) ESPECIALLY not credit card details.  
Unbelievable how many scam artists are out there right now.  I will be phoning TD tomorrow to inquire, even though I am certain this 647 number has no affiliation with them.

I just received the call from this number and the guy said that its from TRG TDC or CBV watever and told me that they can send me equifax report and to avoid ID theft I can get the ID theft protection package and bla bla bla but as I have some problems already with my score and some things not even mine appearing there, made me so conscious. I said no to them and mostly with these Tele mkt calls i say sorry and i dont know i already have registered my name in do no call list but still u neva know

Come ON! It's only a goddamn phone. You honestly want someone dead that phoned you!

Get a life, there's more things important in the world than worrying about who is calling you.

Since the invention of the telephone, people have been getting unwanted calls. Nobody is threatening YOUR life. Grow up! Don't take things so personal.

No 647 is NOT a cell phone area code in the GTA. It is an overlay of 416 for Toronto and pertains to landline and wireless.

And it's been around for over 10 years.

This number has been calling everyday for the past week about 3 times a day.  I have my phone programmed to ignore this number, but I still know they are still calling.  This number was calling me about a year ago.  I actually did answer a couple of times to tell them to remove my number but one time no one was there, the other time it sounded like a fax machine.  The calls did stop for a while but they are back at it again.  The calls are coming late too, 9ish at night, too late and BS.

if only i know who did that, i 'll definitly go to kick his ass!

Got this call from this number yesterday...
SCAM!!!!!
First clue: Long pause before someone responds to your "Hello"
Second clue: No right minded big company would have a 647 area code.
Third clue: VISA would not "cold" call.
Fourth clue: Not respecting the customer's reply, that I will call you if I need "thief" protection.

Stop them immediately in their tracks by saying "No thanks, I will call "Joe" my adviser at bank about my VISA. Hang up the phone immediately after that. (You can faintly still hear them trying to get your attention, just ignore them...remember IT IS A SCAM!)

This number calls at least 5 or 6 times a day.  Luckily I can block calls by number through my phone, but it still does a quick ring so it's really irritating,  I won't even answer it...if a number calls me that I don't recognize I ALWAYS Google it first.  Remember to report them to the Do Not Call Registry.  Nothing can be done to stop them if no one knows they're calling!

None of this its true its not a scam and the only reason the main branches on TD visa does not know about it is because the big guys the people the run all the TD banks dont tell the banks about it. Its really dum and if you pick up the phone and tell them you dont want credit alert plus they will stop calling. If you really want to know more about it call TD and talk to them not the bank branches you do your banking at and they will tell you it is a real service they are offering you

Just telling them you dont want it and they will stop calling a lot of the people that work there like pissing you off so your just making them happy by doing it

Hay dum ass just call TDs main branch and they will tell you this is not a scram

It wont help banks can call people on the do not call list do your research and just tell them to stop calling dum [***]

some of the calls might be scams but if you listen to them carefully they have to ask a bunch of legal questions to be able to do what they are doing and the only info they need from you is your birth date if any one asks for more them that they are scamming you with your birth date there is not much they can do unless they have all your info any ways then your [***]

they do not hang up the call is just not connected all the way if you wait a few seconds the rep would be connected and start talking to you
