AZ Republic bugged me for months, now they are using a 3rd party??  [***].  DNC list won't help as we had a previous relationship with them, which means they can call for up to 1.5 years.  They ARE required to maintain an internal DNC list.  If you tell them specifically "Do Not Call me again", they are violating federal law if they call back.  I would ask for the agent's name first, as this will often ensure they go thru the extra steps of putting you on their DNC.

Telemarketing for the San Antonio Express News. Act like they are calling for someone else, when told that person doesn't live there, they go into their sales pitch.

I just got a call from this number about an hour ago.  The caller asked for the person that used to own/lease the cell phone number that is currently assigned to me.  When I told them that caller that person no longer owns this number, he proceeded to give the sells pitch to me.  I stopped him mid sentence and told him, "I WORK FOR THE NEWSPAPER!  I DON"T NEED A SUBSCRIPTION".  I didn't yell it, just emphasizing it.  These stupid telemarketers also call my office phone not even realizing when I answer and say the name of the company they end up giving me a sales pitch for a subscription to same company.

However, reading all the posts above, it gather this 651-288-2880 number is centrally located somewhere and handle multiple advertisers.

I wish the do not call registry would kick in. I'm sick these type of calls.

Tired of the collection calls, telemarkieting calls and who know whar else.. Might just end up getting my phone disconnected.
In the last 4 months over 100 of these kinds of calls. Only 15 from people I expect to call me.

Lots of repeated calls to my cell phone.  I don't answer caller's who's number I don't know.  They never leave a message.

Getting sick of these calls. Just received one, I ansered, could tell it was autimated because nobody spoke so I hung up.

I've been getting these calls 2x a day for a week. No VM. These [***] have the balls to call within minutes of the first call. STOP!

Stupid AZ Republic! Canceled my subscription and now this number calls me 2x a day! I never answer and they never leave a message. Is this their way of punishing me for canceling?

I've been getting the same calls right after i canceled the AZ republic. So, I just called the main switch board and they were closed so I hit 0 to talk to security just to bother them like they are doing to me. The guy said we will tell them to take my name off the call list that they contracted out to save money. Then I went to the national do not call web site to register. Hopefullt the phone calls will quit.

I live in Sacramento and just cancelled the Sacramento bee and these people started calling.

Same here...I canceled the AZ Repub newspaper subscription and they kept calling me from their regular #, then they began calling me off the hook from some other ph# and harassed me for months and as soon as that # stopped calling me, this one started calling.

I have no idea what these people plan to accomplish by calling people off the hook?  Idiots...all of them!!!

I used to get calls from other numbers for the AZ Republic and when I told them to take me off the list, they started calling with this number. I would assume that's what it's about.

I think i could handle the calls, but they dont even say anything and they just hang up!! grrrrrr

I live in AZ,  and canceled my AZ Republic subscription and now get phone calls from this number all the time with no one at the other end.

I called the AZ Republic paper and spoke with a Super. they did not know anything about it. Mine was the 1st they had heard of it. I hope they can work this out. I  just wanted to know how they got my cell #, it was NEVER tied to the paper.

Yes, I cancelled the AZ Republic.... Very Liberal Newspaper and they TO'd me to these clowns in Minnesota.... I had fun answering the calls in Spanish...

These calls are from a Collection/Telemarketing Agency in Minnesota to people who have cancelled their Subscriptions to the Financially Troubled Arizona Republic

I do not want to receive calls from this number.
