- Tygerkat replies to JenniferScam! A legitimate debt collector would mail you proof of the debt along with proof they're legally entitled to collect said debt. You can't be served over the phone and the sheriff will not come and arrest you for not paying scammers.

- gmsThey call me from 1-254-693-2108. When I answer, I get a voice message saying, "This message is intended for (my name). I need either yourself or your legal representative to return my call in regards to a pending civil matter. In the process of being filed against you, I would like to conduct an interview with you prior to further proceedings. Our telephone number is 651-383-8280. Your case number is 128-2464. Failure to comply may result in forfeiture of disputing this matter voluntarily. Good luck."
I called back and spoke to "Mrs. Beverly." She has all my information, birth date, social security, ect. She said that I forfeited on a payday loan and that they were seeking legal action. I could pay $1,000 today to clear it. I said that I need proof or more information. She started talking real fast, telling me that it was too late to dispute it and that they were going to proceed with serving me legal documents. She said named off two vehicles that I own (both paid off) and said they were going to seize them. When I didn't immediately respond, she hung up.- Caller: Didn't say

- Hunter| 1 replyThe only way these people will stop calling is if you harass them back. Spend an hour or two calling them repeatedly, if you get VM, merge the call and continue calling. They will eventually block your number. It's a scam folks. These are real US people, but they aren't suing you, the case number is their fake number, they aren't calling HR or taking your property. It may not even be something you actually owe at all. Peerless Networks is the name of their provider. Sue and file a subpoena to obtain the actual name of the company. I have heard 1st Choice Recovery, Capital Solutions, Wakefield..etc. They try to mimic names of real companies to scare you. When in doubt, don't pay, I highly doubt they will ever do anything than call and threaten you. Nobody calls to tell you they are suing you, mediation companies like this are usually a bottom feeding company for something so old, you likely aren't gonna remember it anyway. Anyone paying them is a fool. They will have a new phone number shortly and start the process fresh again. They mine accounts over and over. Likely they are a sub to some other company who deemed you uncollectible a long time ago. Your job in life is to clog their phone lines, and harass the hell out of them, like they do to you. Ask them about the weather or your favorite sport or for a stock tip. If they hang up, call back. Spend an hour messing with them and they won't call your number again and you will do everyone they are calling a service. It bothers them immensely. Have some fun.

- James| 1 replyThis is your chance to do a good public deed. Call them back 100X per person and ask them if their refrigerator is running. The noblest deed is the public good. Beware of people that tell you they are legit and you should pay them. It's a public forum. Don't throw your good money in the toilet. I would bet you my paycheck, there is no lawsuit and you have no reason to be scared. Have fun with it. Make them have to answer the phone constantly, it's what they do all day. I guarantee you, they will stop and if they start again, do it again. It's fun, join the revolution.

- Some guy replies to HunterIf more people followed this person's advice, these companies wouldn't exist. I agree. It's your turn to help out, do your part.
- Anonym replies to JamesI took this dudes advice. Rebecca is nasty. I heard her in the background yelling at people. It's a call center. It appears Rebecca runs the floor, people don't like her very much. Help out the public and make a few calls!
- James replies to ex employee| 1 replySo Ex-Employee tell us who they really are.
- Nimrod replies to JamesWhile that would be nice, especially if they could post an actual address, it is doubtful that "ex employee" will return here to read your post.
