Yeah, debt collectors have all kinds of influence on the criminal justice system.  There's no arrest for civil debt and you know it!

Got a very badly automated call today stating: "This is Robert Marshall, White Collar Processing Division. Your name has been linked to a financial transaction now under investigation. We would like to get your side of the story. Please call back here as soon as you get this message or have your retained attorney of record to call back." I could hear other sounds in the background, such as a call center. Clearly a scam and there is no way I am going to call them back.

I got the same voicemail on my pay-as-you-go phone. I just delete the number and the voicemail.

Why are none of these "shills" acquainted with the use of capital letters either in their names or beginning their sentences..?? Seems like a deficit in their English grammar translation software or education ( or lack of)...
Perhaps a tad more of an investment is needed in this scam......

They use the 99 cent Hindi to English translator.  You get what you pay for!

This number called me today saying I was listed as a person of interest in a criminal investigation.the number showed up as a ga number so I thought something was wrong because I live in central fl. When I called back and was explaining my reason for returning the call they hung up on me.

I just received the same call from Robert Marshall. "White Collar Crime Division"? Are you kidding me? Do these yahoos really believe that we are so stupid that we do not know that not paying a debt is not a criminal offense? And the one lady who is so proud of herself for paying her belts and she even got an email saying she paid her debt! Wow, she must be really stupid. An email is not an official release of debt. I am impressed with these yahoos for their tenacity and their creativity with coming up with these names of people and companies. Very creative but stupid because they have no sense of correct grammar or the US system of law and debt issues. My "retained attorney of record"? Who talks like this? Do they really think this makes them sound important? Please. And then, they get someone to come on here and act like they are so grateful for these wonderful people and that they are so happy they will not have to go to jail. Again, please. You do not go to jail for unpaid debts. Especially not an unpaid debt to an online loan company. And, especially not for an unpaid debt to a loan company that you did not even ask for or apply for. Pathetic.

If anyone gets a call from any of these scammers, do not fall for it. Do not give them one penny! Now, if you do owe a debt, the required legal way for a debt collector is to mail, yes, United States Postal Service mail, a letter addressed to you with a listing of the debt owed and the name of the place where the debt originated. You will not go to jail and the debt collector is not allowed to threaten you with any of this. The debt collector is also NOT to call you at work if you tell them not to and they are NOT to call family members or friends or neighbors about your debt. All of this is against US law and any debt collector who tries to be threatening or who calls you at work or who calls your employer, needs to be reported to law enforcement and to the FBI.

These people who are calling with this group have a long history of varied names of attorneys or whomever and a variety of companies (Legal Mediation, Litigation Services, Fraud Unit, Arbitration, Legal Processing, etc) and they try to scare innocent people who do not owe money into paying them so they can avoid being put in jail or avoid being taken to court. These people (Karen Rogers, Robert Marshall, Daniel Steele, etc) are the scum of the earth and I hope they rot in hell for what they try to do to innocent, hard working people. From what I can tell, they have been doing this for many years and they must be getting people to pay them because they keep doing it.

It is websites such as this website that let's innocent people know what is going on and, as you can see, they actually go online here and try to make it sound like the callers are legitimate. They are NOT legitimate! Please spread the word and do not give these creeps any of your money!

Oops, I was so angry I typed too fast and I see autocorrect made some of my words not make sense! In the first paragraph, I speak of the lady not paying her debts and it says belts. Sorry for that mix-up. I didn't fully proofread!

ABSOLUTE LOAD OF CRAP!  DO NOT EVEN BOTHER CALLING THEM BACK....but if you do speak with them, try asking them any question, or say you can't answer a question without consulting your attorney, I promise, they WILL HANG UP ON YOU!  

I've been getting a few calls from this number and another one with a "210" area code, each essentially threatening HUGE, harsh actions if I don't call them back (for what??  and why do they want my money???)

***This one says:  "...KAREN ROGERS from FINANCIAL CRIMES DIVISIONS...you are central subject in an active criminal investigation...you or your attorney must call back..."

SAME stuff happens all the time.  

I frustratingly asked a good friend of mine, also Sgt at our Police Department:  "WHY do these people do this crap?"

Him:  "Because it OBVIOUSLY works for them.  They call enough people, scare some bad enough, they get an instant payday!"

I got the phonecall from this number 678-273-2587 and the told me. I took a payday loan from American cash advance and I didn't pay that money Amy of the loan is $300.00 . I am sure that I did not take any loan from any kind of company
   They told me that they will arrest me I'd I do not pay $1300.00 before 5 pm est they will issue the warrant for me From my county jail .
 Donot pay them any kind of money to them
And do not get scard when u receive a phone call from them
 They can do anything to get u scard just tell them mail me the paperwork of my file and talk to my lawyer .
   And hangup the Phone from ur side do not answer that number again when they callback .
 They ar nothing but the scam. And yah before u hangup the phone tell them that if u want to make money just get the regular job!
