This number called and left a voicemail.  It was some Indian woman who could barely speak a word of English, claiming it was about a job.  What I was able to get out of the mumbled Indian message was it's AskStaffing, a recruiting agency.  I got an email immediately after the call, which claimed it was for a secretarial job in Bridgeville, PA but wouldn't give the company name.  I looked up the so-called job opening on AskStaffing's website, and no such job exists.  I smell a scam, especially since the week before I was harassed by another Indian who called 6 times in an hour (different fake long-distance numbers on my caller ID).  I checked my email, and I got one from him, full of illiterate English and odd wording.  Again, no such job existed on this agency's website.  I think it's Indian scam artists going on a phishing expedition trying to steal money and personal information from unemployed Americans.

I just received the same type of call.  The woman also couldn't speak much English.  I received an email afterwards for a temporary job close to where I live.  I replied via email and she sent a response back quicker than a normal employment agency would have.  (almost immediately)  I also think there is something fishy..

I had an email from a Mary S and she says that timing is very crucial on this position. I tried calling the number and like you there is an indian woman on the phone but her name is "Debbie". She wants me to take a typing test again - which is fine - but I'm curious about why an Atlanta company is job hunting for a company in Omaha??? There are plenty of temp agencies here in the Omaha area.

    No Way
You are right about the response time and the message and messenger regarding a job opportunity.  I love this site, when I get crazy phone calls I enter the number into search and instantly find out that there are so many scams going on.  One of the postings suggested saving the contact under the name of "Scam" and in one week I have 10 new Scam contacts.

Received a VM the message was so staticy I couldn't make out what was being said.  I noticed that my Linkedin Profile has been viewed by "someone in the banking industry in Belegu India" a few times.  Wonder if it's connected?

After reading other comments I checked my email and there is an email from AskStaffing with this number in it regarding a "job".  I sent it to my spam folder.

    WHAT?
It's 6:50am and I am appling for jobs posted on Craigslist.  Immediatly, I receive a call from this number.  But, since it's before the legal time for calls, I ignore it.  Again, immediatly, I get another call.  Since I didn't answer the two calls, I instantly received an email from Fueban Lazrus from Ask Staffing stating they have a temp position in an area I would have never applied.  Then I listen tomy voicemail and it's a job for UPS?  YEAH, I'M NOT GOING TO RESPOND TO THIS.  And not because UPS ran over my dog and killed it, but because I smell SCAM.

Thank goodness for websites like this and good people like all of you. Looking for work in NJ, I posted my resume and immediately received a call from Fueben @ Backbone Communications, 678-317-2819. Later, I checked my email and discovered a message from Fueben regarding an urgent business requirement for an exciting opportunity with one of ASK’s premier customers—UPS (part time  4:45am to 9:30am). Searched UPS website. Well, I guess they are not aware of this position or maybe it’s so new they haven’t had a chance to post it yet. Then, I searched area code 678— that’s how I came upon this site. Thanks again everyone for the SCAM alert.

Guess what?  Just got the same message as you guys this morning, leaving the above phone number.  Probably same Indian woman that you couldn't understand and stating she sent an email as well.  I am not going to open it.  Thanks for the heads up!

Just received a similar call and email.  What made me suspicious is that it came in as +6783172819 which looks like an international number to me.

    Scam is not my name
I had high hopes for the job offer my fiance received from this so called staffing agency. His current job really stresses him out and I want to see his frustration lifted. With this promising job offer. But, me being the curious person that I am went to google really did not find anything negative about Ask Staffing, so I google the number and came across this site. Glad to hear my intuition was spot on, thanks guys!!

I doubt it's an outright SCAM.  In the IT field, a lot of head hunter agencies work to fill positions nationwide.  Considering this is obviously an Indian based company, they probably saw an opportunity to move out of just IT and into the wider job placement market.  Of course, also being an Indian company, they don't GET that people who don't need a visa to work in the US aren't going to call right back or feel any real sense of urgency for a temp contract paying 50% below industry rates for the position.  Just saying.  If you've been out of work for awhile and really need job, give them a call back and see what they're offering.  Chances are it's legit, but the pay rate will likely be pretty disappointing.

    CURIOUS CT
I'm so glad I researched this.  I got this awesome amazing email about a admin assistant job but the one thing that made me question it was the email was from Rejesh Kumar, but in the body of the rmail they said their name was Fueben something or other.  Which prompted me google the names and company. I'm disappointed it's a scam bit I'm glad I looked... Oh yah I check my phone and there was a voice mail identical to the ones described here... Indian accented male you can't understand, bad connection, etc.  Why would such a distinguished recruitment company have such bad reception ? Lol. Thanks everyone!!!
