I am getting call from 678-846-0512 all the time often more than 3 times a day.  How do I stop this?

Sorry , that I contributed $21.00 to the Georgia State Police and will not do it again.  We keep getting calls before 9 a.m. and before 9 p.m. from GAFFA.  I called the state police number and they know nothing, they say. The sticker on my car window means nothing and Iam scraping it off, today..

Some man called here this morning. When I answered the phone hesaid Pam. I said no Pam does't live here. He said dam it and hung up

Got call from same number and caller id says "GAFFA". Nobody talks when I answered. This is very anoying since they keep calling almost every day.

OK ... i can clear this one up ... it is the GA. state patrol Faternal order of police fundraising line ... and yes my spelling sucks and no ... dont answer unless you wanna help them buy some new guns or whatever they spend donations on...

It isn't the Georgia State Firefighters Association.  They do not solicit donations over the phone, they get funding from the state and from the firefighters in the state that sign up for membership (I am one).  Their Area code is 770, not 678.    It also is not the Georgia FFA Association.  They are also a 770 area code.

I think this is just a marketing company because a return phone call does not get an answer, only a busy signal.  Most collections calls at least answer the phone with an automated voice system.

Sadly, this is not true of ALL departments.  The ones here make the officers buy them themselves and don't even front the officers the money to buy they and deduct it from their checks, but they will for their uniforms.  Aren't those officially part of the uniforms if they are required by the agency??  Sorry ass local governments if you ask me...

Got to agree with the rest of your message though.  There are ALWAYS ways to donate to ANY organization in person.

I have logged over 120 calls in the last three months from this number on my phone's caller history. I feel like they are violating the sanctity of my home and I REALLY resent paying nearly $100 a month for my telephone service so that THEY can conduct THEIR business on it!! I hang up on them all the time.  You'd think they would eventually get a clue.  I wonder if GAFFA is an acronym for "GA Fire Fighters Association" and if they have hired a 3rd party telemarketer to solicit charitable donations on their behalf.  It's hard to know because the few times I have answered calls from this number, no one was there.  The National Do Not Call Registry does permit calls from political or charity organizations, but there is a rule about this.  If a 3rd party telemarketer is hired to call & ask for charitable donations on behalf of another organization, you can ask them to stop calling.  If they keep on calling, you can report it on the FTC website (www.donotcall.gov) and they may be fined up to $11,000.

I have been donating to the Gaffa, Gapva (paralyzed vets) and the one for the police (I dont recall their initials). It started out with the police org. and before I knew it all 3 were calling. When I told the GAFFA to quit calling they became very nasty. I was spending hundreds a year. Then I remembered that these donations are not tax deductible. All of my other donations are. Sounds fishy to me. Asked to be taken off all lists. The persistence of their calls also made me uneasy. Be careful!!!!!!
