Did not answer - it was a war dialer w/voice message about lowering my interest rate.  They've called 3 times today; I am on do not call...

I contacted the phone company, state utility commission and state attorney's office. Apparently, nothing can be done about this scam, at least in the state of North Carolina. AT&T said they could block it-for $7 per month.

I'm on the Do Not Call list, but still these calls come through.  It's frustrating.

Call from 678-954-8267 saying the interest rates are going up and please call back asap.

It is not so much that these organizations will not do anything about these scam calls. These scam operations are using technology that allows them to re-route calls, spoof caller ID's (make any number they want show up on), use prepaid cell phones, etc.  ALL these scam operations are outside the U.S., primarily in Canada & as state agencies, there is no jurisdiction to "go after" these people...even if there were, it is nearly impossible to track down the perpetrators because of the above-named methods implored to elude law enforcement.
