Did anyone receive a call from this number after conducting business at a bank?  Here's why I ask:  I received a call from this number today at 9:45 p.m.  I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize, so it went to voicemail.  When I listened to the voicemail, there was only a fragment of an automated message... something about "our security department."  I googled the number, which brought me to this site.  I see that most or all posts state that the calls have something to do with credit or debit cards.  What is odd to me is that I visited a bank today to "revive" a dormant account that has not been used for several years.  While I do not believe the call I received (from 701-509-8703) was a legitimate call from this bank, I'm curious if somehow the reactivation of my dormant account triggered the call.  Perhaps the bank has a security breach of some kind?  I'm having a hard time just blowing this off as a coincidence.  Anyone have a similar experience?

I received a call on my cell phone at work about my debit card being locked and asked me to press "1" to speak with the security department to reactivate.  In doing so, the next thing was a recording asking me to input my 16 digit card number.  My bank doesn't have my cell phone number and believing this to be a scam, I hung up without inputting any more information.    I went to my bank and closed my debit card just as a precaution.  Be careful everyone.  When you're busy, with that type of call, you could unwittingly relay personal info.

This is a scam. Do not press any numbers that they ask you to press. It could be that they steal your long distance and it will end up over seas and you will be charged hundreds or thousands of dollars, because the charges come back to you. Sometimes they ask for your card information.. Never, Never, Never give your information over the phone to anybody that you didn't call first.
    • Caller: Supposedly Wells Fargo. I don't evan have one of their cards

since my cell number is posted due to my work, i have gotten numeras calls all day from differnt numbers with the same recording 701-509-8703, 973-448-2000. (Bank of America debit card deactivated) i sent these numbers over to a friend of mine with the phone company and they are not legit numbers, so dont waste your time calling them. you can report it but it will not go anywhere due to they are not legit numbers and have not been issued out, they are made up numbers and he is going to trace my cell to see where they came from. will take some time but more then likely they are not from the US. i could go on; on how they do it but it would take a lot typing.
