Its probably a autodialer that just does that to get people to get back.  Just because it says to take you off the do not call list doesn't mean that when you press 1 that you are not saying yes to something else.

Weird is right.  Caller calls me in California.  I have never answered.  Don't plan to.

Voicemail msg left. Some girl (I think she said Ashley Martin?) saying we spoke last week about lowering my credit card payments and to call her back at 1-866-533-1917. Whatever. I never spoke to anyone last week or before that. Just another SCAM. Said it was a one time courtsey call. I HOPE SO.

I got this call a few minutes ago.  It is a telemarketer.
Their 'MO' is pretending that they spoke to you recently, and
they have more information for you about refinancing at a lower rate.
Of course, you never spoke to them before.  They just claim
such as a means of suckering you into returning the call giving them
an opportunity to sell you something.  

My personal advice...

Don't go for it.  Reputable companies don't use tissue thin deceptions
in order to solicit your business.

I received a call from this number on my cell phone; hit ignore as I didn't recognize it and they did not leave a message.  This isn't the first time and it's becoming a pain in the ass.

Just received the call, I usually don't answer unless I recognize the number. My motto is, if they can't leave a legitimate voice mail not worth the time to answer.

My cell phone rang. I answered and said "Hello". A man's voice replied "Hello." Then there was just silence. After a few seconds I said "Hello?" again, but he had hung up. This would seem to support the theory that they are random dialing in order to reach voicemail so they can leave a message soliciting whatever it is they are soliciting, but they are not equipped to do live telemarketing.

I received a call from 701 625 5714 today and did not answer. The voicemail was a woman named Ashley Martin telling me that I spoke to her last week about lowering my monthly credit card payments etc...same as mentioned above.
I don't know who this is, did not ever speak to her and agree that it is likely a scam.  They left a call back number of 866-553-1917 which I did not call back

I respond to these calls, when I get a live person, by becoming horribly abusive in a calm but sexually graphic manner. I make them hang up.

I answered, they said "Uh Hi." then hung up.


What a bunch of time wasters.  They hire a bunch of people to work on commission.  

People were told they'd make lots of money and were provided with false testimonies.  Probably have to sell 20 household before they recieve pay.

That means, when they quit at only 5 in last month, the house gets all the credit.  And on, and on........

Why do people work there?  Don't they ask themselves if they would buy from a call spamer?

Ashley Madison calling me, left message, said "we spoke on the phone about credit card debt last week"   which never happened. Scam. Why aren't these people in jail? Clearly a scam.

The caller said hello and then hung up. When I called the number back, the recording said "Thanks for calling back, if you wouldlike to be put on our don not call list...press one" ...so I pressed one. Very annoying!!!!

I think they are verifying phone numbers so that they can sell them as real numbers.

This is annoying why do so many people get a call from this number only to have it hang up on them? How did this dialer get my number and so many others' numbers? What is one accomplishing by calling and hanging up on everyone?!

Yeah, I received a call from this number too. Just said "uh, hi" and hung up.
