- cmb74I received a call from this number a few minutes ago. When I said hello, no one spoke, but I could tell there was someone on the line. Finally, a female caller said hello in a questioning tone. I said hello again, there was a pause, then she said hello and stated that she was calling from Consumer Telcom (which is what shows on my caller ID).
Then she asked if I was the person in charge of my number. I said yes, wondering where this was going. Then she said that I had a low long distance usage, but the way she said it came across more as a question, not a statement, and I said yes with some hesitation because I was trying to figure out where this was going.
Then she asked again if I was the person who paid the bill for my number, I said yes. Then she asked again about my long distance usage and I stated, "I believe I've already answered that," at which point she hung up on me.
I just got my number recently and have been receiving calls for an older gentleman, so I've registered with the Do Not Call list. If they call back again, I'm going to tell them that I'm on the Do Not Call list and to remove my number from their system.
I think this is some sort of "phone cramming" scam where they add charges to your bill for non-existent services.- Caller: Consumer Telcom

- JamesBeen getting calls from this number for three days straight at least 12 times a day! So annoying! Id caller says Consumer Telecom.
- Caller: Consumer Telecom
- SuspiciousPicked up call on my landline. Don't have callerID. Long pause after I said "hello," then a man came on, identified himself as "Chris, from Consumer Telecom..." regarding a charge on a phone bill. He asked if I was the person who handles the account. When I said "No," he immediately hung up without a word. Used *69 to get this number, then came here to check it out. Didn't sound legit when he was on the phone. Now I'm even more convinced it was not legitimate.
- Brian WCalled, but I did not answer, and they did not leave a message.
Caller ID said it was from Las Vegas.- Caller: ??
- AlexI have been receiving calls from this number several times per day. I do not answer them, and the caller leaves no message. Lately, another call will come in within minutes, and my Caller ID says "unknown caller" and lists the number as 000-000-0000. I answered one of these, and the caller was a female who asked for me by "Mr. [my name]" after a pause; clearly a sales gimmick. For some reason, she said nothing further and I hung up.
I am astonished at the frequency of these calls I receive from the same number. Is there any way to stop this?- Caller: Consumer Telecom
- MHO35I get the same kind of call too. After a pause, the guy says my first name, then hangs up. What's the point? Can't sell anything this way. Trawling for unused phone #'s?

- Texas Phone OwnerReceived a call from this number at 6:30pm central time. The caller told me that he was from "the phone company" and I had been targeted because I made very few long distance calls from my home phone. He said that he could save me $8 off what I was currently paying for long distance from my home phone. It was a TOTAL SCAM!!! I do not have a home phone at all. I started asking him questions like, "Can I have a phone number where I can reach you?", (800-872-3811) and "what did you say your name was?". When I got to, "Tell me the name of my local phone company that you are calling on behalf of..." he hung up on me. The jig was up.

- California| 1 replyThis place is a total scam. I use to work at Consumer telecom for like a week. The reason I quit is because they weren't honest about their work. They would trick the elderly people into their services and their bill would come out to like $800+. Anyone who is reading this, BEWARE. The company is a SCAM. They are just trying to take peoples money. If ever you want to speak to a supervisor or to a manager, ask for Tracy Becker because she's the one who pushes her employees to lie to the customer. If you want to speak to higher authority, the Presidents name is Priscilla. Good Luck everyone!
Oh&the number your calling is just their head quarters in Nevada. Their call center is located in Irvine, California.- Caller: National Customer Care
