- topdog000 replies to Sha| 1 replyI only get to block 30 numbers, so in order to block THEIR numbers, I would have to unblock other numbers. You just can't win! You can call the A.G.'s office multiple times and they can only do so much. These callers will pay whatever they're told to pay and keep on doing it. Sometimes I wonder if the government takes part in some of this to get taxes from people.
However, I am used to it and they call MUCH less than they used to. - Tamianth replies to topdog000Get a call blocking device, you can go up to 1500 with one.
However, Portfolio is a well know FDCPA violator. They are always being sued and the last one cost them big time. Your best off to go after them for the violations. Follow the steps in what you need to know below:

***A company must be licensed in their state as well as the one they are trying to collect in if two different states are involved.
Some Tips:
*Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time, date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.
